In this verse Peter writes "Casting all your care upon HIM, for HE careth for you." 1 Peter 5:7
Peter tells us to cast all our cares on JESUS CHRIST, because HE cares for us. With all the chaos going on around us today we truly need to quit worrying and rely on HIM to get us through.
When we read this verse the word casting means to throw upon. In fishing when you cast you then retrieve, or reel back in the line you just casted out, but what Peter is meaning here is we throw our cares, worries, problems, and concerns upon JESUS CHRIST and let them there. We need to quit reeling them back in.
The last part of this verse is what gives us peace and assurance, it says because HE cares for you. No matter what we face JESUS CHRIST cares for us, so just throw all your cares on HIM and see how much HE can do for you.
Are you burdened down with worry, anxiety and depression? Have you cast all your cares on HIM? Or do you find yourself reeling back in every thing that you have cast upon HIM? Cast them upon the LORD, and let them there.

In this verse Moses writes "And the LORD, HE it is that doth go before thee; HE will be with thee, HE will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:8
In this verse Moses is talking to Joshua in front of all the Isrealites. He just told him in the previous verse that, the LORD is going to use him to bring the people into the promised land. Moses tells Joshua to be strong and of a good courage because the LORD will go before him to lead him, and help him to inherit the land.We find the LORD telling Joshua the same thing in Joshua 1:6"Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them."
Moses then encourages Joshua with the hope he will have in the LORD. As Blood bought, born again, Bible believing Christian's we have this promise in CHRIST JESUS. HE will go before us, HE will be with us, HE will not fail us, and HE will not forsake us. Because of this promise we should not be fearful nor dismayed.
Are you willing to face this new year with the strength and courage of the LORD?
