The before and after videos of the Hosea Brown Cemetery. This cemetery contains four burials and it took us about five hours to complete. Joe Jarman had to take a Martha Dawson Brown monument to cut and assemble.

Following a somber occasion in my family last week, I am resuming my duties with the team. During my absence, Mr. Jarman selected a cemetery for our focus this week. The site in question is the Hosea Brown Cemetery, which requires minimal assistance with leveling and plumbing the monument. It is a small cemetery containing four burials.

Following the restoration of Mr. Marshal's monument, we conducted a tour of the cemetery, noting the beautiful and historic monuments, as well as two that were leaning precariously, potentially posing a hazard to grounds staff and visitors due to their substantial weight and potential for causing serious harm.

Given the monument's condition, I felt apprehensive, noting a sandpaper-like texture rather than the anticipated smooth feel. The base exhibited significant crystallization, necessitating removal of about two inches for structural integrity. Information provided suggests Camp Lejeune is responsible for the grounds' upkeep. The company handling the monument relocation reportedly uses pressure washing, but given the fragility of these monuments, particularly the taller headstones, damage is likely. A review of other monuments showed similar textures, suggesting potential future readability issues due to deterioration. Mission accomplished on to the next one.

I had posted pictures of the completed job at George W. Humphrey Cemetery, but I think a video provides a better view as opposed to pictures. POC is Deborah Georges.

We have successfully finished the George W. Humphrey Cemetery cleanup project. I wish to express appreciation to everyone who participated and supported the family during this initiative. The final product is very satisfying, despite the project taking a bit longer than expected to complete.

I contacted the National Cemetery Association today to inquire about the repairs on Mr. Marshall's monument. After providing a detailed explanation of the situation, I was informed that the monument is considered personal property and falls outside their jurisdiction. I was advised to seek permission from the family for any repairs. Additionally, I was told that if it were a veteran's monument in need of repair, a new monument could be issued upon submission of a replacement application.

After concluding some business matters, I couldn't help but return, and Mr. Jarman had already advised me of his intention to tackle the small growth that remained unattended. Following the job's completion, I made my way to the cemetery. We're transitioning into phase two of the project, focusing on monument maintenance. It's evident that some will need attention, and I project a total of five hours will be required to rectify the issues.
