More Than a Miracle: You are God’s Masterpiece 🕊️
This Sunday, Pastor Jessie Arce Jessie Arce shared a powerful word that reminded us that while we often look for God in external signs, the greatest miracle happens within.

Based on the Book of Ephesians, here are three truths that change everything:

📍 1. A New Vision
Pastor Jessie emphasized that we don’t need our problems to disappear as much as we need the "eyes of our hearts" to be opened. We must see the power already at work within us—the same power that raised Christ. It is available to you right now, in the middle of your daily routine.

📍 2. From Death to Life
Without God, we were simply drifting with the current. But His "But..." changed everything. Through His great mercy, He made us alive. We aren't alive because we are "good," but because He is loving.

📍 3. You are His Work of Art
The word "workmanship" (Greek: poiema) literally means "masterpiece."
You are saved by grace (it’s a gift).
You are created for good works that God has already prepared for you.

🙌 Prayer of the Day: "Lord, enlighten my heart. Let me see Your power in my weaknesses and step into the good works You have prepared for me today."

💬 What do you need to feel most today: hope, your own value, or God’s power? Write one word in the comments—let’s support each other! 👇

More Than a Story: From Sacrifice to Victory

Have you ever wondered why the events of Holy Week and Easter still resonate so deeply within our hearts? This is not just a chronicle of the distant past—it is a story of love that knows no bounds.

The Way to Redemption
It all began with the ancient feast of Passover. Just as the blood of the paschal lamb once granted salvation to the Israelites, Jesus became our "Lamb." Though He was completely innocent, He voluntarily took upon Himself the weight of our mistakes. His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane was no accident—it was the conscious fulfillment of God’s plan for each of us.

The Power of Forgiveness
The most striking moment of this story is Jesus’s cry from the cross: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." How is it possible to forgive those who cause such pain? For Jesus, forgiveness was not a weakness, but a manifestation of His Divine authority. He looked past the cruelty, seeing instead our universal need for salvation and unconditional love.

The Broken Barrier
When the curtain in the Temple tore in half at the moment of His final breath, the world changed forever. There are no more barriers! What once separated a holy God from mankind has been removed. Now, the way to the Father is open to everyone—directly, through faith and a sincere heart.

A Victory That Gives Hope
But the story did not end at the tomb. Jesus’s resurrection on the third day is a historical reality, confirmed by hundreds of eyewitnesses. It is the ultimate proof that death is defeated and His promises are true.

What Does This Mean for Us Today?
Faith in this story is more than just knowing the facts. It is:

▪️Trusting in God’s purpose even in the darkest of times.

▪️Having the courage to accept His forgiveness and to forgive others.

▪️Living a life filled with hope, because we know: our Savior lives!

The Anchor and the Fruit: Sunday Sermon Recap ⚓️🌱

If you missed our Sunday service or want to dive deeper into the Word again, here are the key takeaways from our journey through Colossians.

1. Hope is not a dream; it’s a guarantee
We often say "I hope so," meaning a simple wish. Но библейская надежда (Biblical hope) that Paul writes about is an anchor. It doesn't depend on our circumstances—whether it's sickness, hard times, or uncertainty. This hope is "stored up for us in heaven," and it gives us the strength to stand firm here on earth.

2. The Gospel always bears fruit
Faith is never passive. The word of truth is a living seed. We discussed how the Gospel is "bearing fruit and growing" (Col. 1:6) all over the world and, most importantly, in our own hearts. A true encounter with God's grace inevitably changes how we love and how we serve.

3. God works through faithful people
Remember Epaphras. He wasn't a superhero; he was a "faithful minister." He simply brought the Good News to his community. This is a reminder for everyone at Refuge Church: God uses our simple steps of faithfulness, our conversations over coffee, and our sincere care for one another to build His Church.

4. Love in the Spirit
Our connection with each other is more than just human friendship. It is "love in the Spirit." It shows in how we open our hearts and homes, how we pray for one another, and how we walk this path together.

🙌 Reflection for the week:
May your hope be an anchor in any storm, and your faith be a living fruit for those around you. Remember, you are not walking this journey alone.

More Than Just a Miracle Worker: Why is He Our Lamb?

Have you ever wondered why John the Baptist, upon seeing Jesus, didn't say, "Look, there goes a great Teacher" or "Behold the One who will heal your diseases"? Instead, he exclaimed: "Behold, the Lamb of God!"

Within this short phrase lies the entire depth of our salvation.

🐑 The Bridge Across Time: Jesus isn’t just a new figure in history. He is the fulfillment of the ancient promise found in the Book of Exodus. Just as the blood of the lamb on the doorposts saved families in Egypt from death, Christ’s sacrifice today stands as our only protection and our doorway to eternal life.

🕊️ Power That Changes Reality: We see Jesus performing incredible miracles. But it’s vital to remember: He didn't do this by mere human strength, but in perfect unity with the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that led Him through the wilderness and empowered Him to heal is available to us today.

The Core Truth for Us Today:

Jesus didn’t come simply to put His power on display; He came to be our substitute. He is the perfect Lamb who took our sin upon Himself so that we could receive His strength.

When we accept His sacrifice, we receive more than just forgiveness—we gain access to the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead.

A Moment to Reflect:

Who is Jesus to you today? Is He a historical figure, or is He your personal Passover Lamb?

Hello Refuge Family! ☀️🌿
"Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works." — Hebrews 10:24

Take a look at this beautiful image. Just like a flock moving together up the hillside, we aren't meant to walk our faith journey alone. The climb can be steep, but when we move as one, every step feels lighter and more purposeful.

In this verse, the word "motivate" (or provoke in some translations) means to intentionally stir someone up—not to anger, but to love. It’s a call for us to be active, not passive, in our community.
What does this look like for us today?
Noticing the person who might be struggling in silence.

Inspiring a friend to step out in faith.
Moving together toward the vision God has placed before our church.
We serve one Shepherd, and we belong to one flock. Our journey is so much richer when we walk it shoulder to shoulder, encouraging one another along the way.

🙌 Midweek Reflection: Who can you "stir up" toward love today? A simple text, a quick prayer, or a word of encouragement might be exactly what someone needs to keep climbing.
We are so grateful for our church family. See you soon! ❤️

Happy Thursday, Refuge family! ☀️

Take a look at this sailboat. It doesn’t move by its own power; it moves because its sails are open to the wind. ⛵️

Our life of faith is very much the same. We don’t have to "generate" our own peace or struggle to find joy. Our part is simply to trust and keep our hearts open. When we do, God—the source of all hope—fills us up, and the Holy Spirit drives us forward.

"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."
