DEVOTIONS FOR THE HOLY TRINITY EXPLAINED
MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1
Faith does not mean having every answer. Faith means trusting God even when the path ahead is unclear. The disciples followed Jesus without fully understanding where the journey would lead. We do the same. There are moments when life feels uncertain, when prayers seem unanswered, and when God feels distant. Yet faith calls us to keep walking anyway. Not because we are certain, but because God is faithful.
Prayer: Gracious God, when I am uncertain or afraid, remind me that faith is not about knowing everything, but about trusting you. Walk with me today and guide my steps. Amen.
TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2026
“When they saw him, they worshiped him, but they doubted.” — Matthew 28:17
What a comforting verse. The disciples worshiped Jesus and still struggled with doubt. Faith and doubt often exist together. Doubt does not make you a failure as a Christian. Sometimes doubt pushes us to ask deeper questions, study scripture more carefully, and seek God more honestly. God does not abandon us when we wrestle with uncertainty. Christ still welcomed, taught, and sent those doubting disciples into the world.
Prayer: Loving God, thank you for staying with me even in moments of uncertainty. Help me trust that your grace is greater than my doubts. Amen.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2026
“This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” — Matthew 15:8
Jesus warns us against shallow faith that only goes through the motions. It is easy to say the right words or appear religious while avoiding reflection and self-examination. True faith invites humility. It reminds us that none of us fully understands God. When we approach scripture and worship with open hearts instead of rigid certainty, we leave room for God to keep shaping and teaching us.
Prayer: Holy God, keep my faith from becoming shallow or prideful. Give me a humble heart that is always open to learning, growing, and following you more faithfully. Amen.
THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2026
“Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.” — 1 Corinthians 3:18
The world often praises confidence and certainty. But scripture reminds us that humility is part of wisdom. There are mysteries about God we cannot fully explain, including the mystery of the Holy Trinity. Yet our salvation does not depend on mastering theology. It depends on the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. We are called not to know everything, but to trust the One who knows us completely.
Prayer: God of wisdom, teach me humility. Help me trust your grace more than my own understanding. Amen.
FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2026
“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:20
The disciples misunderstood Jesus many times. They doubted, argued, and failed along the way. Yet Jesus never abandoned them. Instead, he promised to remain with them always. That promise is for us too. On difficult days, when faith feels fragile or life feels overwhelming, Christ is still present. We may not always see him clearly, but we are never alone.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your promise to remain with us always. Help me remember your presence in every moment of my life today. Amen.
SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 2026
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.” — Isaiah 6:3
Today we pause before the mystery of God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One God in three persons. Some mysteries are simply too large for human understanding. Yet mystery is not something to fear. Mystery invites wonder, worship, and awe. Like the air we breathe, God surrounds us with grace and presence every moment of our lives. We may not fully understand God, but we are fully loved by God.
Prayer: Triune God, fill me with wonder at your presence and love. Help me live each day trusting that you are nearer than I can imagine. Amen.
