The Blueprint of Success (Pt. 1)

The doctrine of creation reveals something vital about God’s character. In Genesis, we see that God creates with a)order, b)purpose, and c)consistency. He does nothing randomly or wastefully. “And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). His works are complete, perfect, and faithful. When you are truly successful, you will be content with you work just as God was content with His handiwork.

I would call these the essential components of success. God has given His creation a blueprint for fruitful living. An example, even the sluggard is told to learn from the ant: the ant is a)orderly, b)purposeful, and c)consistent. It does not easily abandon its task, and it keeps working toward its goal.

In the same way, Christians are called to live faithfully according to this blueprint, which is ultimately found in Christ Jesus. If we examine truly successful people, we will often find these same principles at work. Growth is never accidental. Our walk with Christ, and our maturity in Him, must also be marked by a)order, b)purpose, and c)consistency.
Let us therefore desire to be more like Christ.

This reminds me of the lyrics of an old Song:

THE NICENE CREED
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.

The Prayer you just read above is what is famously known as the NICENE CREED. At a time when Christianity was under threat it served as a bulwark, it strengthened the faith of the persecuted church, it pushed back against false doctrine.

I believe that every Christian should say this prayer until it becomes imprinted in their minds. Please take time to reflect on the meaning of the Creed. In my next post, I will give a brief background history about the Nicene CREED. Please drop your comments in the comment section.

The Wrong Reason to Be a Christian

To behold Christ is to apprehend reality truthfully. In the Christian worldview, knowledge of Christ is not merely devotional or emotional; it is epistemological. To know Him in all lowliness is to gain a clearer and more accurate understanding of ourselves, our condition, and our place before God. Likewise, to seek the reverent knowledge of God is not simply to accumulate religious information, but to be ordered rightly toward the life for which we were created. To daily acknowledge Christ’s victory over the powers of darkness—manifest in immorality, wickedness in high places, and every opposition to the good—is to live the reality of a triumph already secured.

If one comes to Christianity merely to receive its benefits, they have misunderstood its essence. And if one’s ultimate motive is simply to avoid hell, even that falls short of the faith’s true telos (ultimate goal). Christianity is not fundamentally about the accumulation of spiritual advantages, nor is it reducible to self-preservation. Its chief end is doxological: the glorification of God. (1 Corithians 10:31)

Therefore, the proper reason for becoming a Christian—and indeed for doing anything at all as a human being—is the glory of God. This is the final and highest purpose of man: not merely to be saved from judgment, but to live in such a way that God is honored, adored, and displayed as supreme.

The life of Christ is like a lens through which all things are truly seen. As a chemist in the laboratory uses a magnifying glass, not to invent what is not there, but to reveal what has been hidden, so Christ does not distort reality—He discloses it.

God is holy, and His nature is not shaped by human influence, nor swayed by man’s opinion, weakness, or persuasion. He is not adjusted by our desires, nor is He impressed by our outward performances. Before such a God, all flesh is humbled.

To behold ourselves in the light of Christ is a holy work.In my opinion, this is one of the best revelations any persons can get for themselves. It is not self-exaltation, but humble self-examination before the Lord. It is the trembling and healing moment when a soul sits still before His presence, allowing His Word to expose what is false, His Spirit to mend what is broken, and His truth to anchor what is eternal.

Then life becomes more than a performance. It becomes worship.
More than self-promotion. It becomes stewardship.
More than the desperate need to be understood. It becomes the joyful discovery of who we are in Christ.

My prayer for you is that, you will see yourself in the light of Christ, through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. And that you will see yourself as Christ sees you and love yourself as Christ loves you. And to filled with such a transformative knowledge that will turn your world upside down, In Jesus' Name!! Amen.

A major Achilles’ heel in the Christian faith is the problem of evil. I know people who wrestle with evil in different forms—whether through health, such as an incurable illness, or through human relationships, such as disappointment and hurt. One thing remains certain: calling someone your enemy does not make them God’s enemy. And just because they have hurt you does not mean they have hurt the One whose mercy carries us all. We are all held by His grace, breathing because He is kind. So even when your heart aches, do not let bitterness take root. Do not wish harm on anyone God has created. Let your pain make you gentler, not harder, and let mercy speak louder than hurt.

As the dust from the joyous fanfare of Father’s Day celebration gently settles, The Cross-Cultural Apologist still takes a moment to honor and celebrate the noble men who, though they have long yearned for children of their own, have not yet been blessed with them; the men who tenderly care for their wives and treat them with gentleness, dignity, and love; the men who embrace and nurture children who are not their own, loving them so deeply that they would lay down their lives to protect them. To such men, we say with heartfelt gratitude: Happy Father’s Day.
