Sacred Friendships

Sacred Friendships conversations are at the heart of GIMA. These relaxed, one-hour gatherings are open to anyone curious about another’s faith experience. Our aim is to strengthen connections and truly know one another—not merely learn about each other. Each session centers on a guided prompt led by our committee co-chairs, Betty Brandt and Rabbi Brett Krichiver. Everyone’s invited!

June focus: Unity Without Erasure
At GIMA, we hold to Authentic Diversity—believing unity doesn’t require uniformity. Still, that’s easier said than done. How do we collaborate across faith lines without diminishing our distinct beliefs? When does working together start to feel like compromising core values? Where should we set boundaries? This month we’re carving out space for honest conversation, trusting that our sacred friendships are strong enough to withstand those tensions.

June 16, 3 p.m. — with Rabbi Brett Krichiver

Thank you CIC and Rev. Hougland

Religion exists to bring people together, not to justify contempt for our neighbors. CIC has responded to Lt. Governor Beckwith's recent Islamophobic comments — read the full letter from The Rev. Erin Hougland Glass at the link below.
