This is a powerful reminder that the Word of God gives us a way to respond to difficult people without allowing their behavior to pull us out of character.

Proverbs 25:21-22 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.

Proverbs 25:21–22 challenges us to do good even when doing good is difficult. That doesn't mean tolerating wrongdoing or refusing to set healthy boundaries. It means choosing God's way instead of allowing someone else's actions to determine ours.

You become the Victor instead of the victim.” When we respond with wisdom, self-control, kindness, and obedience to God, we don't have to be controlled by the difficult people around us.

And yes—Proverbs 25 is an excellent chapter to read in its entirety. There is so much wisdom in it for our relationships, our speech, our attitudes, and how we conduct ourselves.

Doing good when you could do otherwise is a spiritual victory. 🙏🏽
