I debated over whether or not to post this one because I knew some people would take it a certain kind of way.

Then the lectionary this morning hit me with Ezekiel 33:7-9 & Matthew 18:15-20.

And Romans 13:8-10, which probably needs to be posted along with this because I feel like it's easy to jump toward correction and "hard truth" while leaving out love, which should come first:

"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

Beautiful day! St. Mary led a one day pilgrimage to Corpus Christi Monastery to spend some time with the Poor Clare nuns. We started with Holy Mass at 7am, then the rosary. We had some time to rest in the peaceful surroundings. We joined the sisters for daytime prayer and then received a presentation on the life of the Poor Clare monastery by one of the extern sisters. We are so grateful that the Poor Clare’s welcomed us during this special Franciscan jubilee year (800 years since the death and transitus of St. Francis of Assisi).

St. Mary altar servers and families gathered for an Appreciation BBQ this afternoon at St. Mary. Our own Seminarian James gave a great talk detailing his vocation story and his first year in seminary. Bishop Malloy was here for the Silver and Gold Marriage Anniversary Mass and graciously made time to meet our servers and take a picture with them!
