This Sunday, September 6th, we will have one service at 11 am, which will be a Latin American Music Mass. Bishop Hector Monterroso will preach and celebrate and confirm, receive, and reaffirm many new members of our parish. It will also be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Reverend Hannah Atkins Romero's ordination to the priesthood. This week, we will celebrate her in our social media.
You may not know that our rector is the fourth generation of her family to serve in minsitry in the Episcopal Church. Her great-grandmother, Bertha Effingham Lawrence Newton (first picture) was one of the first Episcopal deaconesses. Her son-in-law was the Reverend Treadwell Davison (who shares a middle name with his daughter, the name by which both are known) His ordination certificate is pictured. Many of us know his son-in-law, the Reverend Canon Dr. Henry Atkins, our Rector's father.
We will see you Sunday at 11 am.

Trinity has many connections with Hawai'i, where "Aloha" can be said to mean hello or goodbye.
On Aloha Sunday, September 13th, we say goodbye to summer and hello to the new program year. Adult Forum and Sunday school for kids, tweens, and youth all return that day.
We encourage everyone to wear Hawai'ian shirts.
There will be a ministry fair at Coffee Hour, where you can learn about new opportunities for service and connection.
It's also the perfect day to invite friends to Trinity so they can see what our parish offers.
Mark your calendars for this beloved annual tradition.

Sandwich Makers will meet on Tuesday, September 1st, at 10 am in Fellowship Hall.
The demand for sandwiches distributed each weekday by our Evening Prayer ministry has increased. Fifty or more underhoused and/or food insecure persons are fed at Trinity every Monday through Friday. Many hands make light work. Help us to help our neighbors in need.

Together with the Episcopal Health Foundation and the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, Feeding Texas and the Texas Food Policy Roundtable are working with national partners to get Congress to delay cost-sharing provisions for SNAP (food stamp) benefits for two years for states to ensure no one goes hungry.
Through our Evening Prayer, Listening Post, and Sandwich Makers ministries, as well as our longstanding partnership with Lord of the Streets, Trinity takes the commandment to feed the hungry very seriously.
