We hold the community of Uvalde, TX, and others in our prayers as we continue to hope for a day when these devastating acts of violence come to an end.
The NACC community is once again heartbroken by a senseless act of violence. It has been less than two weeks since the mass shooting in Buffalo and now we have to grieve yet again, the loss of so many lives to violence, especially children.
May God's comfort be with you.

It is with deep sorrow the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston reports that retired Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz, 75, passed away this evening. A native Houstonian, Bishop Sheltz dedicated his life to the Lord for more than 50 years as a priest in his home diocese.

Daniel Cardinal DiNardo and the Archdiocese asks the faithful to pray for the family of Bishop Sheltz and his eternal rest.

Funeral arrangements for Bishop Sheltz are currently pending.

As Fr. Ryan Stawaisz lay dying of cancer in a hospital bed, the young priest and his family were ministered to by members of the Catholic Chaplain Corps. “MD Anderson [Cancer Center] was not allowing anyone in,” said Denise Foose, director of the Catholic Chaplain Corps. “However, Fr. Arnel Barrameda was on-site, and he did accompany Father Ryan, had long conversations with him and talked to his parents.” Read more at https://bit.ly/3ENcGmy

In the Region we are creating 1300 care bags for hospital staff. Our dear colleagues are overwhelmed with the crush of patients in the hospitals in our region. Yesterday 55 care bags were delivered to staff at Methodist The Woodlands Emergency Department. The response of gratitude was overwhelming. Keep the prayers coming for these blessed first line servants in our hospitals.

Updates will come as we put these together and deliver!
