Hear more from one of our leaders, Kenda McVeigh:
My husband, Bryan, and I became involved with Disciple Bible Study many years ago when we were starting our life together. As young Christians we learned so much from the teachers in our church, but we were also subject to the influences and beliefs of a vocal and ever-changing culture.
We came to realize that we could spend our entire spiritual lives being told how to live, and what to believe, but how did we know who was right? How did we know what was true?
So, we decided to join Disciple Bible Study and gather with a community of people dedicated to learning how God’s Word could help us be better disciples in this world.
When we first opened the Bible to study the Old Testament, we began to read about God redeeming dysfunctional, broken families. We began to understand the story of God’s grace in the midst of all the war, hardship and suffering found in those early accounts of God’s people.
And the big aha moment came as we turned the pages from the Old Testament to the New Testament. We began to fully understand how God’s plan for redemption from the Old Testament was carried out in the loving life, brutal death, and glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ. God was the same God all throughout the Bible – loving, forgiving, and full of grace.
Come to Disciple Bible Study and join a caring community of learners of all ages as we journey through the Bible. Together, we will gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word and apply it to living a life of authentic Christian discipleship.
In Christ,
Kenda McVeigh
