Honoring the Life of Dr. Robert Bryan Sloan, Jr.

Dr. Robert B. Sloan, Jr., beloved President of Houston Christian University, passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by his wife Sue and their family.

Dr. Sloan led HCU with faith and vision for nearly twenty years, following a distinguished career as President and Chancellor of Baylor University. A devoted husband, father of seven, and "Pops" to twenty-six grandchildren, he will be remembered as a scholar, pastor, mentor, and friend to countless members of our community.
