As a North African man named Augustine said over 1500 years ago, "The church is a hospital for sinners." But in this hospital called the Church, the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, is in the process--not of leaving us like we are--but of healing us emotionally, spiritually, and physically, so that in the end we look like Jesus. What a healing that will be! Romans 8:29 in the New Testament tells us

that we were "predestined" to be "conformed to the image of Christ"-- which means God's plan is for us to more and more resemble Jesus.
