📺Too often these days as I am watching my favorite show or great new movies release...these blatant WRONG philosophies are integrated into the plot. I found myself giving excuses, "I know it is wrong-as long as I recognize it is wrong..it is ok."
🤦🏽‍♀️Excuses kept coming, "Now I wouldn't let my kids watch this because they don't realize it is wrong and they aren't mature enough to realize how wrong it is."
😬HARD STOP.
😭I was convicted. IF It does not align with the Bible and the philosophy is being portrayed as OK...I haven't got any business watching it or I change what I preach to my kids.
How do you guard what philosophies enter into your home?

A dark season of the soul. Maybe you have experienced it, too. A trauma, tragedy, or trial that was simply out of your control and it changed you. You didn't see it coming but it happened and you're still trying to recover. Or maybe you're wandering and feel lost.
I'm guessing more of us have been there than we think. Hey, some of us still have PTSD from the last few years.
These incredibly dark and intense seasons can cause us to doubt God's goodness in our life. They can make us want to quit. They can cause our heart + mind to go to dangerous places. We can hurt people without realizing it from the junk that spills from our hearts.
We are never promised a life free of pain and brokenness. But Thank goodness, dark seasons don't last forever. God does still work good in tragedy. In fact, the death or loss of something often brings new life- not always how we imagined.
The fire that we've endured will often produce a stronger character and compassion that we didn't have before.
Often we want to run from pain and trials, but what if those are the very things God uses to save us, draw us closer to Him, and make us more like Him?
If dark seasons of the soul cause us to run to the cross all the more, then maybe after all, they can be for our benefit and for the good of
others.
