Day 3: Where Are Your Feet Taking You?

Scripture: Proverbs 6:18

“Feet eager to run to evil.”

Devotional

The writer of Proverbs paints a powerful picture here. He isn’t talking only about physical feet—he’s talking about the direction of our lives. Every day, we are moving toward something. We are either moving closer to God or drifting further away from Him.

Notice the word eager. God isn’t just concerned with sinful actions; He also cares about the desires that drive them. Are we eager to pursue God, or are we eager to chase things that pull us away from Him? The choices we make daily reveal the direction our hearts are headed.

Many people don’t wake up intending to fall into sin. It often happens one small step at a time. A compromise here. A neglected prayer there. A little distance from God that slowly becomes a lot of distance. That’s why Scripture repeatedly calls us to be intentional about where we walk and what influences we follow.

God desires for His people to be quick to obey, quick to forgive, quick to serve, and quick to pursue righteousness. When our hearts are focused on Him, our feet naturally follow His path.

Today, consider where your life is headed. What habits are you building? What environments are you placing yourself in? What direction are your daily choices taking you? God promises to guide those who seek Him. When we surrender our steps to Him, He leads us down paths of purpose, peace, and blessing.

Prayer

Father, help me pay attention to the direction of my life. I don’t want to be eager for things that pull me away from You. Give me a heart that desires Your presence and feet that follow Your path. Guide my decisions, my relationships, and my daily choices. When temptation comes, give me the strength to walk away from it and walk toward You instead. Order my steps and help me become the man You have called me to be.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Key Verse: Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

Day 2: Guarding Your Heart

Scripture: Proverbs 6:18

“A heart that plots wicked schemes…”

Devotional

The heart is powerful. It is where our desires, motives, thoughts, and intentions are formed. Long before our actions are seen by others, they have usually taken root in our hearts. That is why God places such importance on the condition of our hearts.

When Proverbs speaks about “a heart that plots wicked schemes,” it is pointing to a heart that is focused on selfish ambition, revenge, manipulation, or anything that opposes God’s will. Sin rarely begins with an action—it begins with a thought that is entertained, a temptation that is nurtured, or a bitterness that is allowed to grow.

The challenge for us as believers is not simply to avoid sinful actions but to surrender our hearts to God daily. We live in a world that constantly influences our thoughts, but God calls us to be intentional about what we allow to settle in our minds and hearts. When we fill our hearts with His Word, His truth begins to shape our desires and direct our decisions.

David understood this when he prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” He knew that true change starts from within. God is not just interested in modifying behavior; He wants to transform the heart.

Today, take a moment to examine your thoughts and motives. Are they leading you closer to God or pulling you away from Him? Invite the Lord to search your heart and remove anything that doesn’t belong there. A heart surrendered to God becomes a heart that reflects God.

Prayer

Father, I give You my heart today. Search me and reveal anything that is not pleasing to You. Remove selfish motives, bitterness, anger, and anything that could lead me away from Your will. Fill my heart with Your truth, Your love, and Your wisdom. Help me to guard my heart carefully because I know it influences every part of my life. Make my desires align with Yours and help me walk in obedience to You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Key Verse: Proverbs 4:23

“Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.”

Reflection Question: What thoughts, attitudes, or motives have been taking up space in your heart that need to be surrendered to God today?

What the Lord Hates

Scripture: Proverbs 6:16-19

“Six things the Lord hates; in fact, seven are detestable to Him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.”

Devotional

When we read a passage like this, it can feel heavy. The words are strong because God takes sin seriously. Yet this list is not meant to push us away from Him—it is meant to draw us closer to His heart. These verses reveal the attitudes and actions that damage our relationship with God and hurt the people around us.

Notice that many of the things listed begin in the heart before they ever become actions. Pride starts in our thoughts before it shows in our eyes. Lies are formed in the heart before they leave our lips. Division among people often begins with bitterness that was never surrendered to God. Jesus continually taught that transformation starts on the inside.

This passage is also a reminder to examine ourselves honestly. Not to live in guilt or shame, but to allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts. Are there areas where pride has crept in? Have we been completely truthful? Have we contributed to peace or added fuel to conflict? God does not reveal these things to condemn us. He reveals them so He can change us.

The good news is that where sin is exposed, grace is available. Through Christ, we are forgiven and empowered to live differently. God can replace pride with humility, dishonesty with integrity, hatred with love, and division with peace. Every day is another opportunity to become more like Him.

Instead of focusing only on what God hates, focus on what He loves: humility, truth, purity, peace, kindness, and a heart that seeks after Him.

Prayer

Father, search my heart and reveal anything in me that does not honor You. Remove pride, dishonesty, bitterness, and anything that causes division. Help me to walk in humility, speak truth, pursue peace, and love others the way You have loved me. Thank You for Your grace that forgives and transforms me every day. Shape my heart to reflect Your character and help me become the man You have called me to be.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection Question: Which of these seven things do you need to surrender to God today, and what step can you take to walk in the opposite spirit?

Choosing To Be Healed

Devotional

In John chapter 5, Jesus approached a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. For almost four decades, this man lived in the same condition, surrounded by disappointment, watching others receive what he had been waiting for. When Jesus asked him, “Do you want to get well?” it almost sounds like a strange question at first. Of course he wanted healing, right? But Jesus was speaking to something deeper than his physical condition. He was exposing the place where hopelessness had settled in.

Sometimes we can pray for healing while secretly becoming comfortable with the very things hurting us. Pain can become familiar. Bitterness can feel justified. Fear can feel safer than faith. We can carry wounds for so long that we start building our lives around them instead of believing God can truly restore us. The man at the pool had every reason to feel defeated after 38 years, but Jesus still came to him with compassion and power. That means no matter how long you have struggled, how long you have battled certain thoughts, emotions, habits, or disappointments, God has not forgotten you.

One of the most powerful parts of this story is that Jesus told the man to do something he had not been able to do for years: “Get up.” The miracle was connected to obedience. The man could have stayed where he was, focused on excuses, or continued believing nothing would ever change, but instead he responded to the voice of Jesus. Sometimes healing begins the moment we decide to trust God enough to move forward even before we see the full outcome.

There are moments when God calls us to release what has been weighing us down. Maybe it is unforgiveness. Maybe it is shame from your past. Maybe it is the fear of failing again or the pain of prayers that seemed unanswered. Healing does not mean pretending those things never happened, but it does mean refusing to let them control your future anymore. God wants to heal not only visible wounds but hidden ones too. He wants to restore your peace, renew your mind, strengthen your heart, and remind you that your story is not over.

Sometimes healing happens instantly, and sometimes it happens little by little through prayer, growth, obedience, and trusting God daily. Either way, healing starts when we stop identifying ourselves by our brokenness and start identifying ourselves by what God says about us. You are not just the hurt, the failure, the rejection, or the struggle. You are someone deeply loved by God and still being restored by His hands.

Today, hear Jesus asking you the same question: “Do you want to get well?” Not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. And if the answer is yes, then be willing to rise when He calls you forward. What God heals, He can also restore, strengthen, and use for His glory.

Bible Verse

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’” — John 5:8

Prayer

Lord, You see every hurt, every burden, and every hidden struggle I carry. Sometimes I have held onto pain for so long that I stopped believing things could truly change, but today I choose to trust You again. Heal the places in me that are broken, tired, bitter, fearful, or discouraged. Help me let go of the things that have kept me stuck and give me the faith to rise when You call me forward. Renew my mind, strengthen my heart, and remind me that my identity is not found in my pain but in Your love for me. Teach me to walk in freedom, obedience, and hope one day at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace In The Middle Of Chaos

Devotional

The world around us can feel exhausting sometimes. Everywhere we look there is stress, division, uncertainty, and bad news. It is easy to let fear slowly settle into our hearts without even realizing it. We start worrying about tomorrow, overthinking situations, and carrying burdens God never asked us to hold alone. But even in the middle of all the noise, God still offers His people peace.

The peace God gives is different from the peace the world offers. The world’s peace depends on circumstances being good, problems disappearing, and everything going according to plan. God’s peace remains steady even when life feels uncertain. It is a peace that calms the heart during storms, strengthens us during hard seasons, and reminds us that God is still in control no matter what is happening around us.

Sometimes we think peace will come once life finally settles down, but many times God teaches us peace while the storm is still happening. He wants us to learn how to trust Him even when we do not have all the answers. Faith is not pretending problems do not exist, it is believing that God is greater than every problem we face. When chaos tries to pull our minds in every direction, we have to intentionally focus on God’s promises instead of our fears.

There will be days when your mind feels overwhelmed and your spirit feels tired. In those moments, do not allow fear to take over your thoughts. Pause and spend time with God. Pray honestly. Worship even when it is hard. Open His Word and remind yourself who He is. The same God who carried you through past battles is still walking with you now. He has not abandoned you, forgotten you, or lost control of your situation.

Peace grows when trust grows. The more we trust God, the less power fear has over us. That does not mean we will never feel anxious or discouraged, but it means those feelings no longer control us. God’s presence becomes our stability in unstable times. While the world is searching for security in temporary things, we can stand firm knowing our hope is rooted in Him.

Today, choose to quiet the noise around you and focus your heart on God. He is still faithful. He is still sovereign. He is still near. No matter how chaotic life may feel, God is able to keep your heart steady and your mind at peace.

Bible Verse

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3

Prayer

Lord, in the middle of all the chaos and stress around me, help me keep my mind focused on You. When fear tries to take over, remind me that You are still in control. Fill my heart with Your peace that goes beyond understanding and give me strength to trust You even when life feels uncertain. Help me walk by faith and not by fear. Thank You for always being near, steady, and faithful through every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

05/16/2026

God, thank You for waking me up this morning and keeping me through the night. Thank You for another chance to breathe, grow, and walk in the purpose You have for my life. Even before my feet hit the floor, You were already making a way for me, and for that I’m grateful.

Today I place everything in Your hands, my thoughts, my decisions, my worries, my responsibilities, and the things I don’t even have the words to explain. Strengthen me where I feel weak, calm my mind when life feels overwhelming, and help me move through this day with peace instead of pressure. Teach me to trust You even when I don’t understand what You’re doing.

Go before me today and order my steps. Protect me from distractions, wrong decisions, negative people, and anything that is not meant for me. Open the doors You want open and close every door that would pull me away from Your will. Give me wisdom in every conversation, patience in every challenge, and grace for every moment.

Help me not to carry fear, stress, or frustration into this day. Remind me that You are already ahead of me, working things out in ways I cannot see yet. Turn every problem into purpose, every setback into growth, and every delay into preparation for what You have planned for me.

No matter what today brings, let my heart stay focused on You. Help me walk with confidence knowing I’m covered by Your grace, guided by Your hand, and never alone.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faithfulness In The Small Things

It is easy to think our impact only matters when something big happens, when we make a major decision or take a bold step. But most of life is made up of small, quiet moments that no one else sees.

The way you speak to your family, how you handle stress, whether you choose kindness when it would be easier to snap—these are the places where your faith really shows. These moments may seem small, but they are shaping who you are becoming every single day.

God is not just watching the big milestones. He cares about the daily choices that form your character and draw your heart closer to Him. Nothing is overlooked. Every act of patience, every moment of self-control, every quiet decision to do what is right matters more than you realize.

When you stay faithful in the little things, even when it feels unnoticed, you are building a life that honors God. You are creating a strong foundation, one choice at a time.

Over time, those small acts of obedience begin to grow into something greater. They build consistency, trust, and spiritual strength. What feels insignificant now is often preparation for what God wants to do through you later.

Do not underestimate the power of the small things. That is often where God does His deepest work. Stay faithful right where you are, because He is shaping something meaningful in you, even when you cannot see it yet.

Bible Verse:
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” — Luke 16:10

Prayer:
God, help me to stay faithful in the small things, even when they feel unnoticed. Teach me to honor You in my daily choices, in my words, and in my actions. Give me patience, consistency, and a heart that chooses what is right, even when it is difficult. Remind me that nothing I do for You is wasted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
