Barnabas Ministries is an interdenominational ministry to pastors. We work to connect pastors and pastoral leaders in John 17:23 pastoral support groups so they are encouraged, inspired and enabled to pursue kingdom ministry together resulting in the world believing that Jesus is Lord and that God loves them. Our vision is to see every pastor everywhere have the opportunity to be part of a John 17:23 group and develop authentic spiritual and relational unity.

This week marks the conclusion of our series on Jesus' prayer in John 17, specifically verses 20-23. Over the past three weeks, we've explored how Jesus prepared the eleven disciples to grasp and embrace his prayer by examining his teachings in John chapters 14, 15, and 16. This week, we'll delve into John 17, focusing on Jesus' deep desire for unity among his followers and the results that unity produces. I'm excited to have you join me on Thursday, September 10, at 8 am EDT USA. To get ready for our discussion, I encourage you to read John 17, count the number of times Jesus prayed for us to be one/united, and come prepared to share your questions and insights.

How are you enjoying our journey of discovery in our series on Jesus’ prayer from John 17? What have you learned thus far? We have spent the past two weeks unpacking Jesus’ prayer through discussions on his teachings in John 14 and 15. This week we will spend time in chapter 16, where he speaks more about the role of the Holy Spirit, among other things. I encourage you to read John 16 so we can have a better dialogue about Jesus’ prayer in John 17:20-23. Come ready to engage in conversation, share your questions and insights. I look forward to talking with you on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 8 am EDT USA.

This Thursday, August 27, at 8 am EDT USA, we're continuing our series on Jesus' prayer from John 17. Last week, we explored how Jesus taught that He and the Father are one in John 14, offering a deeper understanding of His prayer. This week, in John 15, we'll learn that Jesus desires us to abide in Him, and He in us. We'll delve into what this means in relation to Jesus' prayer in John 17:20-23. I look forward to you joining me.

Edward Waithaka ministered to pastors on the importance of unity through John 17:23 small pastoral support groups in Arusha. He said it, "was a great joy. The message and the model of John 17:23 groups was empowering." He also mentioned pastoral leaders from a number of nations desiring to learn more about John 17:23 groups.

This Thursday, August 20, at 8 am EDT USA, we begin a new series on the prayer of Jesus from John 17. Over the next several weeks we will unpack the prayer of Jesus through reviewing chapters 14-16 and part of 18, so that we can do a deep dive into what Jesus taught his eleven apostles the last 24 hours before his death on the cross. Our main focus of Jesus’ prayer in John 17 will be verses 20-23. He prayed that we would be perfectly one, just like he and the Father are one. I look forward to going on this journey of discovery with you. Remember to invite a friend to attend this Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 8 am EDT USA.

Over the past 14 weeks, we’ve been exploring faith in the Bible. We have looked at the Greek word for faith, pistis, and unpacked the definition over multiple weeks. We’ve learned that faith pleases God. We’ve explored how fear robs us of our trust, confidence, and assurance in God. We have discussed what the Bible says about doubt regarding faith. We have also looked at the people in the Bible and talked about their faith or lack of faith. We explored how faith is part of us getting to know God. We have even talked about how we encourage one another through our faith in Jesus. Today, we continue to look at faith and its connection with our salvation through Jesus Christ. Be sure to join me this Thursday, August 13, at 8 am EDT USA, and bring a friend.
