Norman Rose Sellers, 87, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died at 6:58 a.m., on Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home in Hopkinsville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Robert Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Bessmer, Alabama he was born on July 3, 1938 the son of the late Julius Sellers and Neva Johnson Sellers. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyna “Kitty” Jones Sellers; his sisters, Cecil Stanley, Myrtice Handley, Pauline Brown and Emogene Sellers; his brother, R.J. Sellers and his late wife’s son, Tommy Higgins.
He served in the United States Army from February of 1960 until March of 1988. His last duty assignment was with the 801st Maintenance Battalion, 101st Airborne Division Air Assault at Fort Campbell. He retired from active duty as a First Sargeant and then served with Civil Service from 1988 until 2003. He was a longtime member of Little River Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son: Norman Randle “Randy” Sellers and his wife Marcia of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister, Navie C. Stinnett of Alabama; his late wife’s daughter, Cindy (Ricky) Baker; his late wife’s niece, Pam (Paul) Adcock and large extended family in Alabama and Kentucky.
