Bring your project and join us this Saturday @ Homewood Central Park for our annual Guild picnic! The Guild is providing sandwiches, chicken fingers and veggie kabobs. Please bring a salad, side or dessert to share 🥗🍪 Also bring a chair or blanket and your favorite non-alcoholic beverage 🥤

📍We will be located at Pavilion #1

⌚10:00am-2:00pm

🎨 We will be doing a take and donate project of dog toys for the humane society! If you have any of this laying around, please bring fleece, old T-shirts, tennis balls, empty water bottles, and scissors.

🚨 April Meeting Announcement 🚨

🗓️ Saturday, April 11th at 10:00am

This month, we welcome the fantastic Mary Spanos to share her extensive research and knowledge with us! Mary earned her M.A. in Anthropology, focusing on textiles of the early Southeast. She plans to introduce us to artifacts and textiles she has analyzed. She will also share what it was like to study textiles through archeology. We can't wait to learn from her!

Please come enjoy fantastic company, yummy snacks and show and tell once the presentation has been completed.

We can't wait to see you all there!

We are so excited to welcome Carolyn Ray as our teacher for the Woven Snowflake Make & Take! If you missed the sign up deadline, don't worry because we will have a few extra kits available.

🛍️ What to Bring: a 16oz canned good and 6 clothespins for securing glued joints while they dry.

Send us a message to secure your spot in our next Make & Take! Let us know your color preference and we will do our best (subject to availability)! Free to members, $10 for non-members. This is going to be a fun one. If you sign up, plan to bring 6 clothespins and a 16 oz canned good for helping hold joints together while glue sets.

Last Saturday we welcomed UAB Professor Derek Cracco, who gave a fascinating talk about color 🎨, its history, and how it is perceived across cultures. We enjoyed every second of his presentation!

Afterwards, we had a show and tell for members to share what they have been creating lately. Swipe through the pictures ⏭️ to be as floored as we are by these beautiful creations!

🚨 February Meeting Announcement 🚨

It's that time again! Our February meeting is this coming Saturday. We will be welcoming the esteemed Professor Derek Cracco, Associate Professor of printmaking and computer graphics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Professor Cracco will be sharing his in-depth presentation on the history of color 🎨

After our colorful discussion, please stay for Show and Tell. Feel free to bring an item or two hand made with love that you would like to show off! As a reminder, we will have amazing company and yummy snacks.

Last Saturday we had our monthly meeting and the topic was 2026 Resolutions along with Show and Tell! We shared our hopes and dreams for the coming year. For the first meeting of 2026, we will hold our annual Fiber Resolutions meeting along with Show and Tell. Looking forward to this year, let’s share our hopes and goals for our fiber journey. Our Program this month is: Natural Dying with Beth Booth.

Guild member and Expert Dyer Beth Booth will be introducing us to the wonderful world of natural dying. By using the world around us we can create beautiful naturally dyed yarns and fibers.
She will walk us through her process as well as share some of her hard-found secrets to successful dying.
Through discussion and samples, Beth will open our eyes to the wondrous world of nature; you will never look at those pesky “weeds” the same way again!

Join us after her discussion for Q&A and then stay for Show and Tell. Bring your latest awe-inspiring piece to show off and tell us all about how it came to be!.
Also, if you provided pieces for the Homewood Library show in September, they will be available for pick up. Stay and let the Guild see what lovelies you provided for the community to see!
