Dear Friends of Napier Cemetery,
As members of the cemetery committee, it is with heavy hearts that inform you that homecoming at Napier Cemetery will be cancelled this year due to the coronavirus outbreak. While we feel that the situation will be considerably improved prior to May 31, due to the large number of senior citizens who attend the event, we feel that it would be irresponsible to have such a large gathering at this time. This decision was not one that was made lightly and we sincerely hope that everyone understands.
As most of you are aware, donations received during homecoming play an important role in ensuring that the lawn is mowed, fertilizer is spread, and other maintenance continues. We are asking that donations that are normally made at the event be mailed to the cemetery post office box which is listed below. Additionally, if anyone desires to list the cemetery as a beneficiary in their will, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss with you how that can be accomplished. Our goal continues to be to keep our costs as low as possible while increasing our deposits, with the goal of eventually having enough funds to maintain the cemetery in perpetuity.
The second thing we would like to do is to encourage everyone to place new flowers on the graves of your loved ones during the Memorial Day holiday as you always have. The beauty of the cemetery is certainly enhanced by these arrangements and we continually receive comments regarding how beautiful it is.
Finally, we will have a financial report available shortly after the May 31 date. If you would like to receive a copy of the report, please let one of the committee members know or provide your email address on your contribution and we will send it to you. Thank you so much for your continued support of the Napier Cemetery and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Sunday, May 31, 2021.
