Hersey Congregational Church

Hersey Congregational Church Hersey Congregational Church is a non-denominational community church. Service begins 10am every Sunday. Worship is Sunday at 10am.

Every Wednesday is prayer night at 6pm, followed by Bible study at 7pm. Bible Study is Wednesdays at 7pm. The church building was built in 1873-1874 with a $3000 donation from the Blodgett Family and has stood on the corner of 4th Street and Main for over 135 years.

As we recently celebrated our 156th anniversary in July, we thought we'd share a glimpse into our church's history. This photo shows the church with its original steeple. After the original steeple fell, it was replaced with the smaller version that stands today. a beautiful reminder of our rich heritage and the generations who have worshipped here🙏🏼

“The First Congregational Church of Hersey was formally organized in 1870. Services were held in a local schoolhouse for three years. Delos A. Blodgett — early explorer, prominent lumberman and first settler of the area — donated the land and lumber for this church, which was built in 1873-74 at a cost of $3,000. It features handsome leaded-glass windows and a pyramidal steeple. Michigan white pine graces both the exterior and interior, including a handmade pulpit.”

We’ll kick things off with singing at 5:30 PM, then head downstairs for a potluck meal. Afterward, we’ll gather again for more music and fellowship. It’s always such a fun time together🤗🎶
