In Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us to fulfill our earthly responsibilities while never forgetting where our deepest allegiance belongs. A coin may bear the image of Caesar, but we bear the image of God.
⁣
May our choices, priorities and daily lives reflect that we belong wholly to him.

Let every heart and every nation sing a new song to the Lord! His goodness is meant to be proclaimed—not only through our words, but through lives that reflect his love, mercy and faithfulness.
⁣
May we joyfully share God’s glory and tell of his wondrous deeds among all peoples.

Today, Oct. 17, we honor St. Ignatius of Antioch, bishop and martyr. Artwork often recalls his journey to Rome, where he was condemned to die in the arena for refusing to renounce his faith in Christ.
⁣
During that journey, St. Ignatius wrote letters encouraging Christians to remain united, faithful and centered on the Eucharist. Facing martyrdom, he trusted completely in Christ and longed to be united with him.
⁣
May his courage strengthen us to remain faithful in times of trial.
⁣
St. Ignatius of Antioch, pray for us!

Today, Oct. 16, we celebrate St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the Visitation nun whose visions helped spread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
⁣
Her life reminds us that the heart of Christ burns with boundless love and mercy for each of us. May her witness inspire us to draw closer to Jesus, trust in his love and offer our hearts to him.
⁣
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, pray for us!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in you. ❤️‍🔥

On World Food Day, we give thanks for the gift of food and remember our brothers and sisters who do not have enough to eat.
⁣
Our prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread,” calls us to recognize that the earth’s gifts are meant to nourish everyone. May gratitude move us to action—supporting local food pantries, reducing food waste and sharing generously with those in need.
⁣
Lord, help us build a world where every person has a place at the table. 🌎🍞

Today, Oct. 15, we celebrate St. Teresa of Jesus, also known as St. Teresa of Ávila. A Carmelite reformer, mystic and Doctor of the Church, she taught that prayer is a loving friendship with God—a relationship that transforms the heart and gives us courage for the journey of faith.
⁣
May her example inspire us to make time for prayer, trust in God’s presence and seek a deeper friendship with Christ.
⁣
St. Teresa of Jesus, pray for us!

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we remain grateful for the cultures, traditions and deep faith of Hispanic and Latino Catholics who enrich our parishes and the universal Church.
⁣
Throughout this month, we have reflected on the lives of saints and blesseds whose courage, humility and love for Christ continue to inspire us. May their witness encourage us to serve those in need, defend the dignity of every person and share the Gospel through our daily lives.
⁣
Our celebration may be ending, but our commitment to honoring one another’s gifts and growing together as one Church continues.
⁣
Many cultures. One faith. One Church, united in Christ.

Every October, we celebrate Respect Life Month. This year’s theme, “Mary, Mother of Life,” invites us to follow the Blessed Mother’s example by recognizing every human life as a precious gift from God—even when that gift is unexpected or calls us to make sacrifices.
⁣
Through Mary’s intercession, may we help build a culture that respects and protects life from conception to natural death.
