Scripture for the day.
This lesson is timeless.

Luke 10:39-42

39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

The main takeaway of Luke 10:39-42 is that prioritizing time to listen to Jesus and grow spiritually is more important than getting overwhelmed by daily chores and distractions. Key Lessons.
Check Your Priorities: Martha was busy with good work (serving), but she let anxiety and frustration steal her peace.
Value Presence Over Tasks: Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet and listen, which Jesus called the "better part". Avoid Needless Worry: Jesus did not scold Martha for working; He gently corrected her anxious and troubled heart.
Eternal Value: Spiritual nourishment and a relationship with Jesus last forever and cannot be taken away.

Verse of the day.

Colossians 2:6-7

Alive in Christ

6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:6-7 directs believers to continue living their lives in Jesus Christ with the same faith and commitment they had when they first accepted Him.

Verse for today.
Isaiah 40:28-31
English Standard Version
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

I’ve been on this earth 63 years.

I remember when a handshake meant something.
When neighbors were family you didn’t share blood with.
When we believed your trouble was my trouble, because that’s what people did.

I’ve watched that slip away.
Now we measure life in followers and bank accounts.
We’ve traded porches for profiles.
Helping hands for hashtags.

But I’m telling you, son, nothing in your garage will hold you when the doctor says “cancer.”
No amount of money will sit with you at 2am when grief won’t sleep.

People will.
Friends will.
Family will.

The most important things in life aren’t things.
They’re the people God gave you to love, and to be loved by.

So turn off the noise. Go love your people.
That’s how we survive this world. It always has been.

The Times We’re Living In*

We are living in a world where the lies we were fed are being dragged into the light. Systems, leaders, media — the mask is slipping. And I’ve stopped being surprised.

I’ve learned not to trust in humans. I’ve learned to fly under the radar, because the minute you stand up and speak plain truth, you put a bullseye on your back. The world doesn’t reward honesty. It targets it.

I’ve learned the most important things in life aren’t things at all. It’s the people you love. The ones you’d bleed for. Everything else rusts, breaks, or gets stolen.

I’ve learned humans can’t be trusted — not fully. If something matters to you, you better do your own research. Read. Test. Pray. Verify. *1 Thessalonians 5:21*: _“Test everything; hold fast what is good.”_ Blind trust is how you get enslaved.

I’ve learned we can’t live in the past. We can only learn from it. The rearview mirror is small for a reason. *Philippians 3:13*: _“Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…”_

I’ve learned to live for today but plan for tomorrow. *James 4:14*: _“You do not know what tomorrow will bring.”_ But *Proverbs 21:5* says, _“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.”_ Both are true. Present. Prepared. Not paranoid.

I’ve learned life doesn’t come with a remote. If you want it to change, you have to get up and change it. No one’s coming to save you. *Galatians 6:5*: _“For each will have to bear his own load.”_

I’ve learned being alone is not a bad thing. Silence strips away the noise. It’s where you hear God. *Mark 1:35*: _“Rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.”_ If Jesus needed it, so do we.

I’ve learned the only One I can fully trust is God. And if He lives in me, I already have the Kingdom. *Luke 17:21*: _“The kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”_ I’m not waiting for it. I’m walking in it.

I’ve learned that gut feeling — that check in your spirit — is the Holy Spirit, if God lives in you. *John 16:13*: _“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.”_ Discernment isn’t paranoia. It’s protection.

It’s a messed up world. But we are ultimately in charge of what we let in and what we tune out. *Proverbs 4:23*: _“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”_

The war is for your attention. Your peace. Your soul. And the only way through is discernment. Test the spirits. *1 John 4:1*. Hold the line.

The wolves are out, but so is the Shepherd.
