The vision of America's Black Robe Regiment is a growing "regiment" of pastors in every political jurisdiction in America, local, state and national, asserting their own, and the vital leadership and influence of their flocks in civil government, pursuant to securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity. In its original meaning the noun "regiment" was a 14th Century French term
referring to "rule, administration, government." America's BRR is an association of patriotic clergy and citizens committed to restoring righteousness and equity in Government, by promoting and defending the God-given rights of all men to “Life, Liberty and Property,” (“Pursuit of Happiness”) outlined in the Declaration of Independence, and enumerated in the Constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights. As pastors we aspire to the faith, patriotism and fighting spirit of the Black Regiment of the American Revolutionary War, who for decades had proclaimed the political worldview embodied in our Founding Charters. Because pastors were considered chief agitators of "the Rebellion" (War for Independence) they were despised by the British, who referred to these patriotic ministers as the "Black Regiment," a derisive reference to their black preaching gowns.
