This past Sunday Rev Bridges gave a beautiful sermon about welcoming in all. Our reading for the day was Romans 14, which teaches us to accept those who are different from us, for God has already accepted them into his arms. It was a beautiful reminder that we are all children of God.

We want to thank Rev Bridges for all of the wonderful sermons she has blessed us with this summer. She has truly been a blessing to St Barnabas. We are excited for her new journey to begin as Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Clarksville, TN!

Thank you to Rev Bridges for our wonderful sermon today about keeping a restful heart in times of restfulness. We learned from comparing Augustine of Hippo's writings in Confessions to the Psalms that we should find rest in Jesus during the restless times of our lives.

If you missed the last ital night at the church, well then you just missed out on what looks to be some of the most delicious zucchini stuffed boats. I , for one, missed out!!!! When I returned to town, I looked in the freezer to see if, by happenstance, someone may have stashed some leftovers???
NOTHING!!!
Tell me, WHERE’S THE LOVE ?!$? #%!?😂😂😂

4 Pentecost Fourth Sunday After Pentecost June 21st FATHERS DAY 2026
Reverend Doyle completely flipped her script today and shared an impromptu homily for Father’s Day.

Today’s homily was about discipleship. We learned in the gospel about Jesus instructing the disciples to go out , with no fear, and LOVE OTHERS; no exceptions.

We heard the story of two special friends, who despite unacceptance and oppositions, continued to mentor youngsters void of fatherly role models, and how their mentorship contributed to these young people being successful in life.

By the end of one friend’s life, he had influenced people in such a way that when it was time for him to ask for help, there was a handful of people there to guide him through his struggles. Through his discipleship, he helped others carry their cross when they needed help- and in return they helped carry his cross when he need them.

She emphasized that you don’t have to be a birth father to share the same fatherly love with others just as our Heavenly Father pours upon us.
