What do your fears reveal about your view of God? This week we wrapped up Genesis 50, and the message was clear: God does not simply use evil for good — He means it for good. Joseph's words to his brothers cut straight to the heart of what it means to trust a sovereign God: "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good" (Genesis 50:20).

Your wounds are not wasted. Your suffering is not a surprise to God. Nothing you have ever done or experienced has caught Him off guard. His providence is not reaction — it is ordination.

We also saw that faith dies looking forward, not backward. Jacob and Joseph both died with promises on their lips, not despair in their hearts. That same covenant hope belongs to us.

What a wonderful Lord’s Day at New Haven Church!

This morning, we finished our journey through the Book of Genesis and had the joy of celebrating the baptism of Elowyn Robinson.

A fitting end to Genesis and a beautiful reminder that the God who keeps His covenant from generation to generation is still at work among His people.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our sermon series in Genesis, and we have the profound joy of witnessing the covenantal baptism of the Robinson family's newest blessing, Elowyn. On top of that, this will be the very first baptism in our brand-new building!

This Sunday we walked through Genesis 49, where Jacob gathered his sons to speak over them blessings and rebukes before his death. One of the most sobering moments in the passage is watching Reuben lose his firstborn status because of a sin committed years earlier. Hidden sin does not disappear. It has a way of surfacing, and it carries real consequences even for those who remain within the people of God.

But the heart of the chapter is the promise given to Judah. The scepter would not depart from him. The ruler's staff would remain with his line. This is covenant prophecy pointing forward to Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the king to whom the obedience of the nations belongs (Genesis 49:10, Revelation 5:5).

Jacob died in Egypt but refused to let his hope rest there. He died a man of faith, eyes fixed on promises he had not yet seen fulfilled. That is the life we are called to as well.
