Join NEXT SUNDAY, November 16th at 1:30pm —
FPC is proud to host an upcoming forum convened by Trans Haven: “How We Fight Back.” This public discussion with the trans community and allies will help set a course for defending trans rights in Connecticut during an era of hostility. Meet local community leaders and organizers, find community, and get plugged in to the movement for trans dignity and liberation. 🏳️‍⚧️✊

This year, like last Pride season, we are giving away books at our Pride tables throughout the Presbytery of Southern New England! Check out the books below if you want to join us in reading along!

Books save lives -- they spread hope, possibility and connect us to the stories of others like us. In a time when access to books and knowledge about the beauty of q***r and trans folks is under attack -- join us as we try to give our local communities access to q***r Christian resources! This is our second year giving away over 300 books and we hope to do it in many years to come!

Happy Pride! We are getting ready for a busy Pride Season!

Come table with us across the Presbytery of Southern New England!
Hamden Pride - this Saturday from 12 - 4pm
Norwalk/Fairfield Pride – Sat, June 14th, 2pm – 8pm
Providence Pride – Sat, June 21st, Noon – 4pm
Hartford Pride – Sat, September 13th, Noon – 6pm
New Haven Pride – Sat, September TBD, Noon - 6pm

At our Pride table this year will be giving away our trans flag and rainbow scarves (hand knitted by amazing folks in our member churches) and free books! Our books this year are:
- A Tango Makes Three (Children's Book)
- God, Gospel & Gender: A Q***r Bible Study for Teens by Rev. Margie Baker (a local West Hartford Episcopal priest and author)
- The Widening of God's Mercy: Sexuality within the Biblical Story by Christopher Hays and Richard Hays

Aaron Miller, Pastor of Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford. Our trans youth and trans siblings and leaders need us more than ever as their rights and dignity is challenged in legislatures around the country. Join us in celebrating them, ensuring our faith communities are welcoming and inclusive, and advocating for trans rights.

Our Business Meeting will begin at 3pm--all are welcome! Join us to hear about what exciting work we have been up to, to thank our outgoing board members & to hear about our jam-packed Pride Season coming up & how you can participate.

At 3:45 we will join together in worship and study Acts 8:26-40 and the story of the Ethiopian Eu**ch. Together we will consider what the faith and identity of the Ethiopian Eu**ch, paired with Philip's response to the eu**ch teaches us about how God is calling us to serve and be served by the LGBTQ community and communities of color today. What does this story teach us about the nature of God and the desires of the Holy Spirit? Join us as we consider these questions together and enjoy one another's company!
