Working in Africa presents unique challenges that are often underestimated. People may attempt to dictate your tone, seeing you merely as a source of money, and many will frequently try to correct you. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that only a few truly appreciate and value the contributions we make.
After 21 years of fruitful ministry in East Africa, I woke up with a clear conviction: “I don’t want to return to those countries for missions.” Africa boasts 54 countries, and I am confident that many are ready to receive this level of anointing without the burdens of extraction, be it financial or otherwise.
I spoke with another American who has migrated to East Africa, and she said, "Pray for me; I need to control my anger." I confidently thought to myself, "Sister, it's not as easy as you believe; these people are skilled at being subtly controlling."
When you correct someone, they may try to convince others that you’re a terrible person and that they should steer clear of you. However, I firmly believe that "If God is for us, who can be against us?" We will keep moving forward, while they remain trapped in their silence.
I have decided that if an individual chooses to avoid communication with me, I will proceed to unfriend or block them. This course of action is justified, as their lack of engagement indicates minimal value in maintaining the connection.
I spent more than 35 hours on a plane and between airports, and most people who travel like this usually get compensated for their time. We who are sent by God are expected to compensate those who work with us. I have done it for 21 years with joy, but it is becoming burdensome lately.
So, to my friend who migrated to East Africa, when you reach the point of understanding why God sent you, the feeling of obligation will dissipate. Hang in there, soon God will set your feet on solid ground. There will be no need to express anger anymore. God will free you of such people.
Anyone who chooses to remove themself from us considers it a blessing that they were not loyal in the first place. Rejoice, for the Lord is with you; this is how it should be.
Love you lots,
