Meet Our Pastor
🌟 We are blessed to introduce our pastor, Rev. Dorothy W. Jackson!
Rev. Jackson is a devoted servant of God, a retired educator with 42 years of service to the Leland School District, and a gifted musician who has spent a lifetime leading congregations in worship. Ordained as an Itinerant Elder by Bishop Julius McAllister, she has pastored churches across the Mississippi Delta and brings to Greater Disney Chapel a ministry rooted in humility, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
Her favorite verse says it all: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid." — Psalm 27:1
Rev. Jackson boldly declares that she has come this far by faith — with Jesus as her provider, her guide, her protector, and her closest friend. 🙏
We are honored to worship and serve under her leadership. Come experience her ministry for yourself!

📖 Did you know Greater Disney Chapel AME Church has been serving the Greenville community since 1896?

Our church was organized under the leadership of Rev. Edward W. Lampton and is named in honor of Bishop Richard S. Disney, the 15th elected Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. From our earliest members — faithful brothers and sisters whose legacies still echo through this community — to every generation since, this church has been built on faith, sacrifice, and love.

In 1976, after a season of challenge, Bishop Frank C. Cummings challenged Rev. G. Contella Borroum to re-establish Disney Chapel with no members. Starting from zero, the congregation grew to 21 full members and 50 associate members in that very first year. 🙌

That's not just church history — that's God's faithfulness on display.

We invite you to be part of the next chapter. Come worship with us!
