Vote With Your Feet

Last week I made this suggestion:

“If the church you are attending has made it clear it will not supply Bible believing mid-Acts Pauline dispensational right division, then perhaps you should take your demand (and dollars) elsewhere.”

This is called voting with your feet.

Leadership of churches pay attention to who attends their meetings. They must if they want to minister to the people there.

Whether your church votes or not, your presence (or lack thereof) matters. Every time you show up to church, leadership sees this as a vote of confidence for what they are doing and teaching.

If your church leadership does not see the importance of building on a Pauline foundation, you can ask to meet and make your appeal to them.

If they do not have ears to hear, then you have one more move. Change your vote. Move out.

By taking your Bible and choosing to leave, you are showing them how important to you it is that a church stand for sound doctrine. Staying would communicate that what matters more in the church than respecting the word of God is respecting men (or relationships, to use modern evangelical jargon).

If you want to honor them, kindly tell them why you are leaving. A proper Biblical use of “separation” is a final appeal for someone to reconsider their doctrine or actions. Leaving can be a loving rebuke if you tell them why.

“Then, where do I go for church?"

Vote with your feet to go somewhere else. Instead of going each week and casting a vote for wrong doctrine, spend that time exploring your state for anyone willing to meet around the truth. This will take some driving. This will take some time. This will take patience to find likeminded saints.

Do not be discouraged. This is a kind of ministry work. It is a good work that may result in more people meeting together around the word of God rightly divided, all because you refuse to vote with your feet for anything less than sound doctrine.

If more saints voted with their feet based on right doctrine, then we would see more people gathering around the truth of the Bible rightly divided.

Coming up, I will explain how far you can afford to travel.

For your edification,

Justin “get out the vote” Johnson

It is an open secret that new Bible versions change the text of the Bible. The reason given for change are usually “discoveries by the latest scholarship” or “easier readability” (neither of which are good reasons for change). But what happens when translators intentionally change the text to conflict with other translations? This lesson deals with Bible structure changes, printing mistakes, negations and more from a Bible-believing perspective. Find out more in this lesson!

The important doctrine of communion or the “Lord’s supper” has been turned into a provocative religious confusion. Its true meaning has been lost because men do not see the mystery of Christ. In this lesson we attempt to explain what communion is and when, why and if we should do it from a mid-Acts dispensational perspective.

The world places a huge emphasis on your career – your occupation, your life’s work. The Bible places a huge emphasis on Christ and serving Him. Can these two faiths be reconciled? What makes them so different? Should we reject career entirely to serve Christ? This lesson answers these questions and more from a mid-Acts Pauline dispensational perspective. Learn more about career in this lesson!

We Have a Problem…

We are a month away from our travel meetings in Charleston (WV), Knoxville (TN), Birmingham (AL), and Cincinnati (OH), but we have not received your reservations.

We base these meeting locations on known contacts, church requests, and other communication, but for the past couple of months we have not heard from nearly as many of you as we anticipated.

It’s time for a roll call.

There is a chance our reservation form was not working at one point, so if you plan on coming to any of these June meetings, please email the address below to renew your reservation. We will respond to each reservation to verify we received it.

[email protected]

If you are from these areas but for whatever reason cannot make it to the meetings, email us anyway. It would be great to hear from you either way.

If you know people in these areas that may not receive this email communication or be aware of the meetings, email us or pass along this information. You can find details of these meetings here along with our past travels:

www.graceambassadors.com/travels

If we do not see an increase in interest, then we will need to rethink and possibly reroute our travels, so please hear the urgency of this request.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out requesting we travel to your home state. We keep track of each request on our map. We remain excited for future ministry to see the knowledge of grace grow in every place and are grateful for the opportunity to meet and encourage you all on these travels.
Sincerely,
Justin "present and accounted for" Johnson

The Last Command of Christ

“Making his last command our first priority.”

This is the slogan of a larger ministry catching a lot of attention. Catchy. Clever. Christ-centered, and, also, correct.

We should take the last command of Christ as the first priority in the church. Amen.

But what happens if you get the last command wrong? Wouldn’t that result in the wrong priority?

Yes, it would.

The church calls itself 2819 after what it believes is the last command of Christ (in agreement with most Baptists – Matthew 28:19).

Unfortunately, that puts as their first priority teaching all nations to obey Israel’s commandments, water baptism, enduring to the end for salvation, and (if you include the Mark 16 and John 20 statements) healing, speaking in tongues, and apostles remitting sins.

Matthew 28:19 is not the last command of Christ. It is only the last command of Christ in the book of Matthew. He returned much later to give further revelation and instructions to the Body of Christ through the apostle Paul.

Paul writes that he saw Christ “last of all” (1 Cor 15:8) and received his gospel and message from Christ after Matthew 28:19 and the ascension of Acts 1 (see Galatians 1; Col 1:25).

Christ returned to command the apostle Paul to go to all nations giving them the gospel of the grace of God and the glorious mystery of Christ (Eph 3:9).

These final instructions and ministry to the church can be found in 2 Cor 5:17-21 and Ephesians 3:1-12, and they affect everything the church does.

When churches fail to see the later revelation of the mystery, they cannot obey the last command of Christ.

It is not their desire to obey Christ, serve Christ, love Christ, or pursue Christ that is wrong. It is that they do not hear his last message and so cannot get their priorities straight.

Make Christ’s last command your first priority. Make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery of Christ.

For Truth,

Justin “top priority” Johnson
