Pelotonia Prayer Flag

Pelotonia Prayer Flag Your personal prayer, message of hope, or memory of loved ones will soar in a powerful display of spirit and unity in the fight against cancer.

Inspired by Tibetan Prayer Flags, Pelotonia Prayer Flags, with your personal prayers, messages of hope, and memories of loved ones are displayed at Opera House Park in downtown Granville on Pelotonia weekend each year. Imagine your inspiration soaring with hundreds of others in a powerful display of spirit and unity in the fight against cancer! Tibetan tradition holds that the goodwill and compass

ion reflected on the flags are carried by the wind into all pervading space where they bring a benefit to all. The Prayer Flag project is coordinated by Blaine Franz who, together with his sons Logan and Levi, ride Pelotonia every year in memory of his wife/their mother who died in 2012. Get your Flag, add your inspiration, and share it with the Pelotonia family ... for the benefit of all! Make a donation to Blaine, Logan, or Levi directly on their Pelotonia profile page, and you will receive a Flag in the mail (or delivered if you live in Granville). Write your personal message on the flag, post a photo to this page (if you wish), and return it by August 1 to the address that will be provided with the Flag so it can be included in the Opera House Park display on Pelotonia weekend. A special thank you to StrohCreative for the flag design and collateral development! They contributed their talents on a pro bono basis to support Pelotonia and cancer research.

HUGE news: Thanks to James Critical Care Senior Staff Chaplain, Cathy Disher, Dr. David Cohn, interim CEO of the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, and many more of the staff at the James, in it's 10th year, the Pelotonia Prayer Flags will be displayed this year in the lobby of the hospital in July! Imagine the power of hundreds of messages of hope, gratitude, and remembrances written on the flags displayed in the hospital where patients, their families and friends, doctors, nurses, and staff can see them every day as they come and go through the lobby!

Flags are available on a donation basis near Hope's Boutique at the James, and will be available at the Granville Farmer's Market on Saturday, June 15, and July 13. Watch here for other locations/events where you can get your flag to add your personal message to the display.

If you or your peloton would like to support the Pelotonia Prayer Flag Project and raise money for your ride at the same time, please message me. I would love to tell you how you can be part of it!

Battling cancer is about more than chemo, radiation, and surgery. It’s also about courage, and strength, and hope! Many people of all faiths, indeed even those with no prior faith, turn to prayer when they, or their loved ones, face a diagnosis of cancer – for courage, strength, and hope.

In conjunction with Pelotonia, this year Pelotonia Prayer Flags personalized with prayers, inspirations, messages of hope, and memories of loved ones lost will be displayed in Granville’s Opera House Park from August 3-9. The flags are modeled after Tibetan prayer flags, and Tibetan tradition holds that the messages written on the flags are blown into space where everyone who comes into contact with them benefits from the goodwill and compassion reflected. Imagine the power of hundreds even thousands of Pelotonia Prayer Flags soaring in the breeze, and the courage, strength, and hope it will give to those impacted by cancer.

Add your flag and your inspiration by going to www.pelotoniaprayerflag.org.

If you are a Peloton captain or a solo rider and want to use prayer flags to raise money for your Peloton or personal commitment, message me for details about how to do that.

A tribute to anyone whose life has been affected by cancer.
