I grew these! This year is all about learning as I grow. The ranunculus did great, and I have plans to plant even more of them for next year.

This is the first bouquet I’ve ever made. For real.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been trying to find my path. That thing I’m good at, that makes sense to me, that makes my heart sing. And the pieces are falling into place.

I have an art degree where I spent years on color theory and principles of design, that I never used. I grew up using my dad’s film camera, and have a love of photography that never went anywhere. I have a love for plants that I’ve been fostering for years, that was just a hobby. I love making things, but I spent the past six years at a computer screen instead.

But now? All those seemingly disparate pieces of my journey are coming together, and things just make sense. I’m so grateful I get to use all of these random skills to make this magic happen and bring beauty into the world. ✨

I lost the light on this one a bit, but the mini green crown I made was too cute not to share! I’ve loved making these crowns, and I’m hoping to make more soon.

I had never made a flower crown, but I’ve always wanted to. And I wanted to know if it was something I was capable of. So today, the kids and I hit up a couple grocery stores to get some post-Mother’s Day leftovers to make a crown.

My daughter is obsessed with pink and being a princess, so she was ecstatic to wear this. And for my first attempt? I don’t think it’s half bad. I can’t wait to make more this summer with my own flowers. 💕

There’s something magical about fresh, wearable flowers. Maybe it’s how fleeting they are, or how indulgent they feel. Whatever it is, there will definitely be more in our future.

I bought 500 tulip bulbs for next spring. To my flower farmer friends, it sounds like a drop in the bucket. To everyone else it sounds like an obscene amount.

Buying those bulbs is a calculated risk, and an exercise in believing in myself. Right now, I don’t have the customer base to support that many blooms. But I have a whole year to grow, and an entire city to get to know.

There are exciting things on the horizon over here: collaborations, pop-ups, and all sorts of floral magic. I’m trusting that next spring will be even bigger and better. And who knows? Maybe next May I’ll be doubling my bulb order.

Tell me your house is too small without telling me your house is too small. 😂

Dishes were being washed in the kitchen sink, someone was in the shower upstairs, so that left me the tiniest sink in the world to clean up these tulips. At least the light was magic. ✨
