What does “Sunday Service” look like at Common Table Civic Church? It’s probably not what you’re expecting!
We don’t spend Sunday mornings sitting in rows inside a building. Instead, we gather briefly, get organized, and then we go out into the community to serve.
Our Sunday Service model is built around the idea of caring for people in real, tangible ways. Each week, we rotate the type of service we do so we can stay consistent and sustainable.
Most Sundays are , where we focus on things that don’t require money. This might look like neighborhood cleanups, visiting someone who needs connection, or just showing up and offering time and presence.
Some Sundays are , where we use what we already know to help others. That can include yard work, small repairs, tech help, childcare support, or other practical needs.
When we have the resources, we host , where we distribute items like meals, care packages, or seasonal supplies. These happen less often and are supported by donations and partnerships.
Every Sunday Service, we gather, we ground ourselves in our purpose, we go out to serve, and then we come back together to reflect and connect.
There’s no pressure to be perfect. If you’re willing to show up, there is a place for you. This is what church looks like for us. Not just gathering, but going. Not just talking about care, but practicing it together in our community.
If you want to be part of it, you are welcome to join us at the table.
