Due to anticipated inclement weather this weekend St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will cancel all activities at the church this weekend, including the Saturday evening Mass. The Church will be closed and you are asked to contact Deacon Scott or Steve Howe before coming to the church over the weekend.

Pursuant to Canon 1245 clergy may dispense the faithful from the Sunday Mass obligation. All Parishioners are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass this weekend.

Heavenly Father, please keep all the members of our Church family and our community safe this weekend, may they all stay warm and well fed through this storm. Grant us all the grace to see your beauty in these times of difficulty. Amen

A message from Deacon Scott concerning the impending weather:

We are aware of and are monitoring the storm that is predicted to hit this weekend. A decision on Saturday and Sunday Masses and CCD classes will be made on Saturday morning.

If there is any risk of danger there will be dispensation from attending Mass this weekend. Please pray for all our families that they may stay warm and safe through this storm.

In response to the ongoing government shutdown and its impact on the poor, Bishop Michael Olson issued a call to the faithful on Oct. 29, urging participation in a special second collection for local neighbors in need at all Masses this weekend, Nov. 1-2.

"Others might lower the poor among our social priorities, but we who are faithful Catholics must know that the poor and hungry come first because they are Christ among us."
