What We Believe
The Godhead
We believe that there is but one living and true God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29). He eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20). He is all-powerful and all-knowing; He is the sovereign ruler and judge of all that exists (Exodus 3:14; Ephesians 4:6; Hebrews 12:23). It is our ultimate purpose to glorify Him forever (Matthew 5:16
). The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ as God the Son (John 10:30). We believe in His complete deity and full humanity (John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-8), in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23), in His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), in His shedding of blood and His death as a voluntary and substitutionary sacrifice (1 Peter 2:24), in His physical resurrection (Matthew 28:1-10), in His ascension into heaven, in His position at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19), and in His imminent personal, visible return and establishment of His victorious kingdom (Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 20). The Scriptures
We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible is inspired by God and without error (2 Timothy 3:16). The Word of God is the ultimate authority in faith and practice (John 17:17; Hebrews 4:12). Humanity
We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that he succumbed to sin and consequently incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death (Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 5:12, 6:23); therefore, he now stands condemned before God. Belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only means to salvation (John 14:6). Salvation is by the grace of God and not the result of any merit of our own (Ephesians 2:8). We believe that all who receive by faith our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God (John 3:5-7). The Church
We believe that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ constitute the universal church of which Christ is the head (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23). The establishment of local churches is biblical and is presented and described in the New Testament scriptures (Galatians 1:2; Philippians. 1:1; 1 Corinthians 1:2). We believe that a plurality of godly men, called elders, serve over the local assembly under the authority of Christ. These elders lead the local church as servants to Christ and are given authority by Him in directing it (Titus 1:5,7-9; 1 Timothy 3:1-7). We believe that the church is to teach the Word of God, aid in the maturation and equipping of the believer, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:2, 15; Ephesians 4:13-16; Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8).
