Cosby Carpenter, Rose is married to Richard L. Jarvis of Gloucester, VA. God has blessed their union with two girls, LaToya & Felicia. cipient of many awards and currently working on her PhD, she does not want to be remembered by her accomplishments but wants to be remembered as one who loved. More than two thousand years ago, there was a man born contrary to the laws of life. He received no formal education and never possessed wealth or wide-spread influence. He never traveled extensively, He only once crossed the boundary of the country in which He lived, yet this man’s life has changed the course of history. In infancy, He startled a king; in childhood, He puzzled doctors; in manhood, He ruled the course of nature, walked upon the waves, and hushed the sea to sleep. He healed the multitudes without medicine and made no charge for His services. He never wrote a book, yet His life has inspired more books than any other man. He never wrote a song, yet He has furnished the theme for more songs than all song writers combined. He never founded a college but all the schools put together cannot boast of having as many students. He never practiced psychiatry, yet He has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near. Though time has spread two thousand years between the people of this generation and His birth, He still lives. His enemies could not destroy Him and the grave could not hold Him. This man stands forth upon the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory proclaimed of God, acknowledged by angels, adored by His people, and feared by demons. God has given Him a name which is above every name, that at His name every knee should bow and every tongue should confess and guess what? He never wrote a biography about His self. I choose to follow in His footsteps. To God be all the glory for the things He has done in my life.

That’s grace. That’s why Jesus told Paul, “My power is made perfect in weakness.”

He still meets us right where we are.

The tree that was cut down is now springing forth fruit in due season.
My bitter has been made sweet.

All of this is by His mercy.

But every time she got an opportunity…
she doubted it.
She delayed it.
She avoided it.

One day, she asked God,
“Why haven’t you answered my prayer?”

And God replied:

“I did… but you were too afraid to steward what I sent.”

Sometimes, it’s not that God isn’t providing.
It’s that we’re not prepared.

Faith isn’t just about prayer.
