1 Corinthians 12:27-28, “Now you collectively are Christ’s Body and individually you are members of it, each with their own special purpose and function.”
We have all been given unique gifts, purposes, and missions as part of the Body of Christ - to be part of His Kingdom and play a role in its growth. Yet, each of our individual missions cannot prevail if other parts of the Body are not involved. A hand cannot grasp an object without the arm first reaching for it. In the same way, we are not made to act alone. There must be community. There must be unity and coordination between the members of the Body for each mission to be accomplished to its greatest extent.
Take a moment now to meditate and pray about where you are being called. What is your mission? What are your unique skills, passions, and abilities? Lastly, where can you bring those ideas, skills, passions, and callings into the Church? Maybe the creation of a new program or ministry is needed. Maybe the Church already has areas ready for you to jump in and serve. No matter where or what this calling is, it’s important to remind ourselves that the greatest things cannot be accomplished alone, and if we are meant to be God’s Kingdom, then we must remember that a kingdom is not made of one person, but many.
