I truly hope this isn't your story, but if it is, you are not alone.

I have heard so many stories of women over 50 feeling invisible in their churches. But I also know many women who are valued, sent, and serving - my own church included. ❤️

We are living longer and staying healthy longer, and the old "over 55" model for seniors isn't just outdated. It's obsolete.

So if you're in your 50s, 60s, or 70s or beyond, let me remind you:

You are not done.

The church still needs you. Your wisdom, your experiences, your stories and your faith.

You have decades of lessons behind you, and potentially decades of influence still ahead of you.

Don't let a number convince you that your best days of serving God are behind you.

There is still so much God can do through your life.

And there's a generation coming behind you that needs what you've learned along the way.

The mirror has a way of telling us lies.

It points out the wrinkles, the gray hair, and the years that have passed. If we're not careful, we can start believing those outward changes define our value—or our future.

But God has never measured a woman's usefulness by her age.

Throughout Scripture, He repeatedly chose men and women whose greatest assignments came later than anyone expected. Moses. Sarah. Anna. Their stories remind us that God's timeline rarely matches ours.

Philippians 1:6 gives us this beautiful promise:

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Notice the promise doesn't come with an age limit.

If God is still giving you breath, He's still giving you purpose.

So today, don't let the mirror have the final word. Let God's Word define your identity, your value, and your future.

Our culture has a lot to say about aging.

It tells us to stay young, stay relevant, stay quiet, or step aside.

But God's Word tells a very different story.

God never says, "Your usefulness has expired."

Instead, He delights in using people who are willing, regardless of their age.

Moses was 80 when God called him to lead Israel out of Egypt. God wasn't looking at his birth certificate—He was looking at his heart. (Exodus 3–4)

God never says, "You're too old to begin again."

Sarah laughed when God promised she would become a mother in her old age. But God kept His promise because nothing is impossible for Him. (Genesis 18; 21)

God never says, "Your influence is behind you."

Titus 2 reminds older women that they have a holy calling—to teach what is good, encourage younger women, and model a life that honors Christ. Influence doesn't diminish with age; it deepens.

God never says, "I've moved on to someone younger."

Think about Anna. She was well into her eighties when she recognized the Messiah in the temple and proclaimed Him to everyone who would listen. (Luke 2:36-38) God gave her one of the greatest assignments in history during the later years of her life.

God never says, "You're finished."

Psalm 92 says that those planted in the house of the Lord "will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green." Fruitfulness isn't reserved for the young—it's the promise of a life rooted in Him.

Friend, if you've been believing the lie that your best years are behind you, can I gently remind you of this? God doesn't measure your life by your age. He measures it by His faithfulness.

As long as He has given you breath, He still has purpose for your life. He is still writing your story.

For her 60th birthday, my friend Dawn Mann Sanders asked her friends to share what it means to be fully alive at every age. I love that idea, because at 67, I’m more convinced than ever that getting older doesn’t mean God is finished with us. Far from it.

I’m Fully Alive at 67 because I’m still serving God through speaking and writing, still growing, still learning, and still becoming the woman He created me to be. I’m grateful for where I’ve been, but I’m also looking forward to what’s still ahead.

There is no expiration date on a life surrendered to Him.

Happy birthday to Dawn! Welcome to a lovely decade of life! 🎈🎈🎈

Sometimes the hardest lies to untangle are the ones we've believed about ourselves.

That we're too old.
Too late.
Too broken.
Too far behind.

But who told us those things?

This month, I want us to challenge those lies together and remember this incredible promise:

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..." Philippians 1:6

On this Sunday afternoon, I’m finishing the final chapter of my book (yay!), and I keep thinking about you.

You, the woman who spent thirty years being needed and now finds life a little quieter.

You, who can’t quite decide whether this season is an ending or a beginning because some days it feels like both.

The Lord knows I didn’t write this book because I have it all figured out. I wrote it because I’m asking many of the same questions you are. 🤷‍♀️

But here’s what I know for sure: the years after 50, 60, and beyond are not the leftovers. God is still doing real and meaningful work in women our age. And He is not finished with you.

This book is my love letter to you, dear ones. To the women wondering, What on earth is happening to me? 🤦‍♀️ And what comes next?

And this isn’t simply an invitation to “age gracefully.” That’s all fine and good. I’m writing to women who want to keep going, keep growing, keep serving, and keep making a difference for Jesus until He takes us home.

Here’s to the later chapters.

To all of my female friends from 50 years and up... most of us are going through the next phase of our lives. We're at that age where we see wrinkles, gray hair, and extra pounds. We have maintained households, paid the bills, dealt with sickness, sadness, stress and everything else life has assigned us. We are survivors... We are warriors... We are classy ladies like a fine car or w**e. Our bodies may not be what they once were, but they have carried our children, burdens, courage and strength. We should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many. Live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute.❤️

Ladies, I challenge you to copy proudly with your picture and age.
