IT’S HAPPENING! 🎉

After two and a half years of waiting, trusting, false starts, long pauses, and more than a few moments of wondering if I had heard God correctly, I am signing a contract with one of the most influential and trusted names in Christian publishing, Moody Publishers - and I am absolutely beside myself with joy!

This is nothing short of the mercy, grace, and kindness of God, and I am humbled and grateful beyond words.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to my agent, Debbie Alsdorf, the incredible team at Books & Such Literary Agency, and to Acquiring Editor Erin Davis at Moody Publishers for championing this project, believing in the vision, and believing in me.

So many personal thank-yous are still to come, because you simply do not arrive at a moment like this without the generosity, prayers, encouragement, and kindness of truly amazing women pouring into you along the way. I am so thankful!

And to my friends who are still growing, still serving, and still stepping boldly into the later years of life, this book is for you. Hope and encouragement to stay the course is on the way!

The book releases in July 2027, and I cannot wait! 🎉

Tonight, after the family headed home, I caught the sunset from my backyard and stopped to remember what happened here.

The ground I look out on every single day is near Herr’s Ridge in Gettysburg, where some of the earliest fighting of the Battle of Gettysburg unfolded on July 1, 1863. We’ve been told our neighborhood sits on what was a Confederate staging area before the battle began.

Those who died here - and many still remain buried in the fields - were a family’s precious son, brother, father or husband.

Everywhere you go around Gettysburg, the fields, ridges, farms, and roads all bear witness to courage, loss, and sacrifice - Union and Confederate alike. So many young men who never came home.

On every Memorial Day, I’m reminded that freedom has never been free. 🇺🇸 Grateful.

I think one of the sweetest gifts that comes with growing older is grace. Not just receiving it from God, but learning how to extend it more freely to others, and even to ourselves.

With time, we begin to realize that grace is far more powerful than criticism, division, defensiveness, or trying to keep score. Grace brings peace into strained relationships, healing into wounded places, unity where there has been distance, and broken relationships.

The older I get, the more convinced I am that grace is one of the most powerful weapons we carry with us into the world.
