There is a sister book to the "Psalmody" Hymnbook that contains the music (melody line only) formatted with the Civil War era Accordeon or Flutina key numbers and bellows direction press/pull (please remember that these instruments are bisonoric, and have the tonic of a key, or scale on the pull (not like the modern day instruments such as the Cajun accordeon, or even the harmonica). Also note, the Psalmody Hymnbook has the composer and lyricist information in it.

Calling Accordeon and Flutina players!
We Need Product Reviewers!
God has laid it on my heart to put together a Hymn book (Psalmody), and a complementary Accordeon Tutor/Preceptor. All the hymns are Civil War period.
The Hymn book is complete and is being used at Civil War Reenactment Sunday Services. The Accordeon Tutor/Preceptor is 75% complete, and needs Accordeon or Flutina players to read and play through it for accuracy, etc. The first few persons who volunteer will be given final copies of the Hymn book, the Tutor/Preceptor, and a "still to come", accompanying audio recording of the Tutor/Preceptor, played on period Accordeon/Flutina (delivered in the key of your instrument).
Please message us if you are interested, or send an email to [email protected].

Interesting Image ... the man standing was born in 1845, and one person has guessed that the image was taken in 1865 which would make him 20 ... which seems reasonable. The men were said to be descendents from England and Ireland, and living in the US (Iowa, NY, Ohio). I do not have access to the back of the CDV.

I thought that I would share the cover (what remains of it) of the oldest Accordion book (that I personally own) which is newly acquired. The backside of the cover reveals "Entered According to an Act of Congress, in the year 1850, by WM. HALL AND SON, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Southern District of New York." Although it is in poor shape I consider it to be nonetheless a treasure.
