Rob Schneider Calls Out Disney and Paramount Over the Film David

Actor and comedian Rob Schneider isn’t mincing words — and this time, his target is Hollywood itself.

Schneider recently spoke out against Disney and Paramount, accusing major studios of refusing to support or promote the animated biblical film David, despite its massive crowdfunding success and clear audience demand.

According to Schneider, this isn’t about quality or money.

It’s about content.

The film David — which tells the biblical story of King David — raised tens of millions of dollars through crowdfunding, making it one of the largest crowdfunded animated projects in history. The audience is there. The funding is there. The demand is undeniable.

Yet major studios reportedly passed.

Schneider’s argument is blunt:
Hollywood will green-light almost anything — except unapologetically biblical stories.

He claims studios that once championed faith-based storytelling now avoid it, not because it won’t sell, but because it doesn’t align with modern ideological priorities. In his words, stories rooted in Scripture are treated as a liability, while far more controversial content is celebrated.

That accusation hits a nerve.

Because if David can raise tens of millions without Hollywood, what does that say about the gatekeepers who refused it?

This isn’t just about one film.
It’s about whether Christian stories are being quietly pushed out of mainstream entertainment — even when audiences clearly want them.

Supporters say Schneider is finally saying out loud what many Christians have suspected for years: faith isn’t being “left out” by accident.

Critics argue studios are simply choosing what they believe will perform best globally.

But the numbers behind David complicate that defense.

So the question becomes uncomfortable:

If Hollywood claims to champion diversity and inclusion — why does biblical faith so often get excluded?

And why does it take crowdfunding for these stories to exist at all?
