Paul gives thanks for gospel partnership, gospel hope, and gospel company in the opening verses of Philippians. Thanksgiving is a great way to begin a day, a prayer, or a conversation. It’s hard to go the wrong direction when you start with giving thanks. It not only sets the tone, it sets the heart.

One of many life lessons from Philippians:
Sometimes God places us in less than desirable circumstances in order to open gospel opportunities that otherwise would have remained closed! The gospel advances throughout the Roman imperial guard BECAUSE Paul is in prison. (1:12-13)
When we find ourselves in undesirable places, look for gospel doors to open!

Paul’s secret to unshakable joy in uneasy times (he was in prison for doing good and people were taking advantage of his situation) was that he treasured Christ and built his life on the glory of God.

When our foundation is the glory of God, we will treasure Christ, and with Christ as our all, we find joy even in unexpected places!!
