Today is Good Friday, the day we remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
There is no celebration in the usual sense.

Instead, we pause.

We reflect on the suffering, the humility, and the love that was poured out for all of us.

“It is finished.” — John 19:30

On this solemn day, we are reminded:

Of the weight of the Cross
Of the depth of Christ’s love
Of the price paid for our salvation

As Knights, as men of faith, and as a community, we stand united in prayer and gratitude.

Take a moment today to:

Spend time in silence
Attend Good Friday service
Pray for those in need
Reflect on what this sacrifice means in your own life

The story is not over…
Sunday is coming.

Holy Week – Day 38 of Lent (Holy Thursday)

“I have given you a model to follow…” – John 13:15

Tonight, we pause.

No fryers.
No lines.
No rush.

Just reflection.

Holy Thursday reminds us of three powerful moments in Christ’s mission:
🍞 The Institution of the Eucharist (Exodus 12 / 1 Corinthians 11)
🙏 The Washing of the Feet (John 13)
❤️ The Command to Love and Serve

Jesus didn’t lead from a throne…
He led from His knees.

As Knights, as men of faith, as a brotherhood—
this is our blueprint.

Not just during Lent.
Not just during fish fry season.
But every day.

✝️ Holy Week — Day 37 of Lent (April 1, 2026)
Frankfort Council 1483 Knights of Columbus

As we continue through Holy Week, today’s readings remind us that even in moments of doubt, pressure, and fear… God’s plan is still unfolding.

In the Gospel, we see tension building as opposition grows stronger. Yet through it all, Jesus remains steady, focused, and obedient to the Father’s will.

That’s the call for us today.

Not perfection… but faithfulness.
Not comfort… but courage.
Not retreat… but trust.

As Knights, as men of faith, we’re reminded that the mission doesn’t stop when things get difficult — that’s when it matters most.

🙏 Stay the course.
🙏 Stand firm in your faith.
🙏 Serve with purpose.

As we move closer to the Cross… and ultimately the Resurrection… let’s carry that spirit into everything we do today.

Vivat Jesus!

✝️ Message

We are now in Holy Week — the most powerful days of Lent.

Jesus said:
“When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I AM.”

In the desert, the people were healed when they looked up.

As we move closer to the Cross… the message sharpens:

👉 Look up — that’s where healing is
👉 Look up — that’s where hope is
👉 Look up — that’s where He is

🔥 Worthy Filleter Real Talk

This week hits different.

Everything points to the Cross.

We all carry something…
Stress. Pride. Fear. Distraction.

But the answer is still the same:

👉 Look up. Not around. Not back. UP.

🙏 Lenten Challenge

Take 2 minutes today:
• Pause
• Look up
• Say: “Lord, I trust You.”

🐟 Knights Message

Holy Week reminds us —
This isn’t just tradition… it’s transformation.

We don’t just fry fish on Fridays…
We’re working on our souls all 40 days.

Vivat Jesus!

Knights of Columbus 1483

The Story of Our Success in Fish Fries

Knights of Columbus in Frankfort, Kentucky became known as the best place to get a fish meal on a Friday during Lent. (Except Good Friday)

At Good Shepherd Church’s School on Wapping Street, the Knights of Columbus’ first fish fry started with a frozen square piece of fish that was fried and served with fries and coleslaw.

One day, Dan Bruning and Dennis O’Connell were at Saint George and the Dragon talking to the owner, George Younger. Dan said our fish fry could use some improvements. George said, “Would you like me to show you how to improve it?”

… and the rest is history.

Worthy Filleter checking in 🐟

With the Fish Fry behind us…
now comes the most important part.

This final week of Lent — Holy Week — isn’t about doing more.
It’s about slowing down.

The Church invites us to step away from the noise…
to be still…
and to walk closely with Christ in these final days.

This is the week where everything changes.

👉 Less rushing
👉 More prayer
👉 More reflection
👉 More time with God

As we move toward Easter Sunday, take time today to simply sit with Him.

No big plans.
No big words.
Just presence.

Because before the joy of the Resurrection…
there was silence, sacrifice, and surrender.

Let’s walk it together.

Vivat Jesus!

🐟 FINAL FISH FRY – TONIGHT
⏰ 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Lenten Cod – Week 6 | Slowing Down

Six Fridays.
Thousands of meals.
One incredible community.

What we did wasn’t just serve fish…

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these… you did for me.” — Gospel of Matthew 25:40

Knights, families, students, teachers, and volunteers —
all coming together to live our faith in action.

That’s what Lent is about.

Now… we slow down.

The fryers cool.
The lines fade.
(And yes… maybe the smell of fish finally leaves our clothes 😄)

But what remains:

🙏 Faith
🙏 Fellowship
🙏 Service

From all of us at the Knights of Columbus Council 1483…

Thank you for answering the call.
