The Taiji teacher training and intensive study sessions I hosted in 2026 are drawing to a close. Students hailing from Colombia, Germany, and the United States have gathered here to participate in intensive study—some for a single week, others for multiple weeks—across various stages of the program.
Throughout this period, the students have shared their thoughts and life experiences, cooking meals and handling household chores together. It has felt less like a formal training course and more like a family reunion centered around Taiji and Kung Fu; indeed, every day has been filled with laughter and cheerful conversation over meals.
If I were to define what ”Xuanju“—the sanctuary I have created—truly represents, I would say it embodies Chinese tradition and serves as a spiritual home for the soul.

Regarding the subject of wellness, I had a sudden thought: Taoism features a practice known as “Chamber Arts”—techniques for cultivating s*xual energy—aimed at prolonging life. This practice seeks to achieve longevity by fostering a state of mutual pleasure and harmony among the mind, body, and spirit during s*xual in*******se. Engaging in s*xual activity is, in a sense, akin to a woman becoming pregnant; it triggers and activates numerous physiological functions within the body—functions that are typically mobilized to protect a developing fetus. Many women suffer from various ailments prior to pregnancy, yet find that these health issues resolve themselves once they have conceived. Could cancer operate in a similar manner? Could it be linked to a disharmonious s*x life—specifically, a situation where one’s emotions and feelings are constantly repressed within the body, unable to find proper expression or release?

Two years ago, I was reluctant to organize study tours to China because the logistical demands were simply too overwhelming. However, I did not want to disappoint the students who wished to travel to China alongside me. I have visited many places across China and have friends in numerous regions—friends who are invariably warm and hospitable. Consequently, wherever I took my students, they received the same enthusiastic welcome that I did; while studying under my guidance, they also had the opportunity to savor the local culinary delights of each destination. Now that I have returned to the United States—and although fond memories of my time in China frequently surface in my mind—I must face reality: my primary focus going forward is the preservation and transmission of the internal martial arts. Moving forward, I need to focus on my Baguazhang and Xingyiquan workshops.

The Beginning of Spring
According to the traditional Chinese calendar and to fortune tellers, those born after today will be considered to be born in the Year of the Fire Horse.
In the quiet path, listen to the oriole’s song,
Waves ripple gently, distant mountains are greenish gray.
In this fine season, let us join hands and share words,
Together we admire the spring light, intoxicated in the flowers.
The video was filmed by a Daoist friend at a Taoist temple in Yunnan.

Xingyi Quan is a martial art that particularly emphasizes power. From a health perspective, Xingyi Quan has a positive effect on people who lack motivation in life. It can quickly improve the circulation of vital energy (Qi) in the body for those who have insufficient Qi.
We hope to receive more students who are willing to become Xingyi Quan instructors during the teacher training in April.

Whether one is poor in spirit or in material wealth, it stems from not understanding one’s position and situation, and not being aware of one’s abilities. The Buddhist monk Bodhidharma traveled by boat from India to China to propagate Buddhist teachings. When he disembarked in Guangzhou, everyone regarded him as a joke. However, later on, he became a well-known figure in China! This is because he recognized himself and became familiar with Chinese culture. The world is constantly changing; remaining stagnant can lead to failure.

The autumn intensive training has concluded, and I am thrilled to see our current and future teachers embracing the community we have built. It’s heartwarming to witness everyone coming together as a family—cooking, sharing stories, and exchanging life experiences. All expressed their enthusiasm about returning for the intensive training next year.

Everyone has their own definition of life; some have grand ambitions, while sparrows have their own survival rules. The main thing in life is to live with belief! Because everyone‘s environment and needs are different, the definition of success varies as well.

Life involves continuous reflection at different stages. As we enter society, what is our value? Are we like water, or do we need to behave like mice? While various animals, plants, and substances each play different roles on Earth, humans, as higher beings, have more choices. During the past two weeks, I organized a Taoist seminar on Taoism and health preservation, which has given me a new understanding of the things I do! I used to practice martial arts when I was at the martial arts school, focusing all my attention on Kung Fu and teaching. At the Taoist temple, I chanted scriptures and did divination every day! After coming to the United States, I found that most of the people I met were fond of martial arts and Tai Chi, so I made my primary profession as a coach. Later, I met some people interested in Taoism and began teaching some knowledge about it. I also considered trying to be an MMA coach, as competing in the ring had once been my dream.
Since I built my own Taoist gate center, more people have become interested in Taoism mad Taoist wellness. Reflecting on many people with mental and physical issues, I’ve seen them gradually improve through Tai Chi or by visiting the Taoist center for wellness. This sense of accomplishment and the definition of my own value have taken on a new meaning.

The environment influences people—poor people’s social circles consist of other poor people, wealthy people‘s circles consist of other wealthy individuals, teachers associate with other teachers, truck drivers connect with fellow truck drivers, and martial artists interact with other martial artists! Your circle determines your destiny. If you want to change your fate, you need to step outside your circle. The same applies to health and mindset; to transform your thinking and health, you should interact with positive and uplifting people.
