Updates from our recent Outdoor Sacred Spaces mini-grants. This project in Indianapolis replaced a tree that had been damaged by severe weather. Glad to see our parishes continuing their great work in caring for our common home!
🙏 Thanks to a generous grant from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Creation Care Committee, Father Pat now has a new tree in his front yard.
🌳 The tree is a yellowwood, which is a native species found in Indiana. The tree illustrates IHM’s commitment to Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home. Planting a tree creates habitat for animals, cleans the air, and provides shade.
✝️It is also located adjacent to the Our Lady of Fatima garden to enhance prayer and reflection on the IHM campus.
✨ Thank you to Peyton Berg & our IHM Creation Care Ministry for helping.
