Let’s fill our love tank.

Grief is not a weakness of faith; it is evidence of love. Scripture affirms that mourning is both natural and sacred. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). The loss of a spouse disrupts identity, routine, emotional security, and companionship—creating a profound sense of absence that words often fail to express.

Biblically, grief is not something to be rushed or suppressed. Jesus Himself wept (John 11:35), reminding us that sorrow and faith can coexist. Ecclesiastes teaches us there is “a time to weep and a time to mourn” (Ecclesiastes 3:4). Healing, therefore, begins with permission—permission to feel, to lament, and to remember.

From a love-centered perspective, the grieving individual often experiences a shift in how love is received. Where love was once expressed through daily presence, touch, conversation, or shared responsibility, the absence can feel overwhelming. During this season, love must be reintroduced through patience, reassurance, and presence rather than pressure or expectation. Romans 12:15 instructs us to “weep with those who weep,” emphasizing companionship over correction.
