Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

When others try to get us to participate in their juvenile arguments over things that have no relevance whatsoever in our spiritual walk and eternal future, quickly remind us of what really matters.

2 Timothy 14 tells us: “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels”

Help us to always remain the adult in the room, or simply walk out when things get heated, rather than joining in on meaningless and childish conversations.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

We as Your children, find is hard to understand how people do not see the truth of the gospel right in front of them.

Help us to remember that Satan is the god of this world and as long as they are unbelievers, he controls them like a puppet master.
None of us has the power to overcome him on our own. None of us has the ability to see the truth until we surrender to You are filled with Your Spirit.

2 Corinthians 4 tells us: “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”

We pray for their hearts to surrender to You, and their eyes to be opened to the truth that has set us free and had such an amazing life altering impact on us.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

May we never forget to stay in the battle daily against our enemy.

David stayed at home when his men went into battle, and that’s when Satan made his move on his idle mind by tempting him with Bathsheba.

2 Samuel 11 tells us: “In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, but David remained in Jerusalem.”

Proverbs 16 reminds us: “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop”

2 Corinthians 2 says: “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.”

1 Peter 5 tells us to always: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Help us Lord to remember that idle hands and idle minds is an open invitation for Satan to attack us. May we be ever vigilant, ever aware, even on guard, and always ready for the attacks.

Dear Heavenly Father,

There are many false religions and beliefs in the world who have fallen for the lies of Satan, that claim that You did not come to earth in human form to provide us the opportunity of salvation.

John 1 clearly proves them all wrong:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

And in John 14 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”

Help us to not fall for the lies of Satan. And help us as we try to share with others how they too can accept this truth and know You as their Lord and Savior.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to remember that the key to true happiness and contentment is not found in self pleasure, but in honor and service to You.
Help us to seek out Your will in our life so that we can plug in and serve You within Your church family.
And putting You first this morning. By laying aside our multitude of plans for today, will not only give honor to You, but You also see and reward our dedication and devotion to You.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to remember that just because You don’t answer our prayers the way we want them answered, doesn’t mean You are not hearing us.

In Isaiah 55, You remind us: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Help us to accept and be ok with Your plans for our life. No matter how bad we might want something, we can rest assured that You know what’s best. Overstepping You will only lead us into trouble.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Satan’s favorite stumbling block that he loves to use is earthly possessions. He knows the more we focus on earthly gain, the less we will have in eternity. He’s literally stealing from our heavenly savings account.

Luke records a parable You shared about a rich fool in chapter 12: “But God said to him, ‘You fool ! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself ?’ This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Then he said to them, “Watch out ! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

And Matthew records You warning about this matter in chapter 6: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”

Your Word tells us that You will meet our needs, but we get in trouble when our needs go beyond needs and turn into greeds.

Help us to keep our focus on serving and giving to You, rather than blowing it on ourselves.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

In our world today, it is very difficult to avoid all the evil that surrounds us.

It’s on our news, it’s in our streets, it’s in our classrooms, and yes, unfortunately, even in some of the places that refer to themselves as churches.

We are literally dealing with S***m & Gomorra all over again, and at times, it seems like Satan is winning and we are losing.

Romans 12: 9 reminds us to: “Hate what is evil; cling to what is good”

Help us to focus on the things which are good and hate the things which are evil.

Ephesians 5: 11 reminds us: “Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

And 2 Timothy 4: 2 reminds us: “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction”

We cannot be Your followers and remain silent. Give us boldness to share truth even if it is not popular in a fallen sinful world.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Not one of us knows if we will be alive 2 seconds from right now.

Ecclesiastes reminds us: “death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart.”

Job also reminds us: “A person’s days are determined; You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.”

May we never take each day for granted.
Help us Lord to focus on our destination and the commission You assigned us, rather than wasting each day focused just on this life that will be over before we know it.

May we remember the poem of C. T. Studd: “Only one life,’ twill soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving us the gift of salvation so that we will not be here when You return to earth that final time.

In Revelation it clearly spells out what the end of time here on earth will be like…
“The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place. “Look, He is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see Him, and all peoples on earth will mourn because of Him.”

We, Your children, who know You as personal Savior, can rest assured that we will not be here when this event takes place, but, those who will still be here at that time will mourn because their time of salvation has expired.

So, we pray today for those who still do not know You as their personal Savior.
May they get right with You before it is too late.
