The Juneteenth Celebration Committee is proud to announce the 26th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, taking place June 18–21, 2026, in Fayette. This year’s theme, “Crossing the Bridge: The Journey to Freedom,” reflects both the historical significance of Juneteenth and the ongoing path toward unity, progress, and hope for future generations.
This four-day, family-friendly celebration promises something for everyone, bringing together residents and visitors from across the region for a time of reflection, fellowship, and joy. A full schedule of events will be released soon, but organizers are already excited to share several highlights.
The celebration kicks off on Thursday, June 18, with the 2nd Annual Celebration Banquet at Central Methodist University’s Inman Center. Guests are invited to a social hour beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The evening will feature a keynote address by Rev. Aaron Carter. This signature event is proudly supported by presenting sponsor Commercial Trust Company.
On Friday evening, the community is invited to gather at the courthouse gazebo for a spirited Gospel Fest beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy uplifting music, fellowship, games, and concession vendors in a welcoming outdoor setting.
Saturday will be a full day of activities for all ages. The day begins with a parade through town, with lineup at 8:15 a.m. on Spring Street and step-off at 9:00 a.m. An Opening Ceremony will follow at 10:00 a.m. on the courthouse lawn. Throughout the day, families can enjoy kids’ games, a live auction, bingo, a car show, and more. The Gaines Food Court will be open at its traditional location at Crigler Corner, offering a variety of food options. The day concludes with a fireworks display at Paige-Liberty Park at dusk, providing a festive end to an exciting day.
The celebration concludes on Sunday with a Community Worship Service, featuring an inspiring message from Bishop Lester Woods and music by Urban Empowerment Ministries of Columbia, Missouri. Following worship, attendees are invited to stay for the 2nd Annual Barbecue Cook-Off Competition, bringing the weekend to a flavorful and fun close.
