The Fairview Cemetery gate is open for the season. You may now drive in to visit gravesites. We ask that you come retrieve your holiday decorations as soon as possible, before we begin mowing!
And please, remember the following Rules and Regs which are in place so that the lots may be maintained safely and efficiently:
LOT PLANTINGS AND DECORATIONS
1. The Board of Trustees shall have the authority to remove all floral decorations, flags, shrubs, plants, or herbage of any kind, which, in the judgment of the Board, have become unsightly, dangerous, diseased, or detrimental, or which do not conform to the regulations outlined.
2. Existing shrubs are to be trimmed and debris deposited in places provided for that purpose. Shrubs should not be allowed to grow above, or higher than the monument, and if removed will not be replaced.
3. Artificial flowers and wreaths will be allowed only from October 1st to May 15th and will be removed after that date.
4. Owners of lots may plant flowers if they give them proper care.
5. No shrubs or trees shall be planted on an individual lot without the approval of the Board of Trustees.
6. Metal containers, baskets, or other receptacles placed above the ground as flower holders will be removed by the caretaker within three weeks if not taken previously by the owner. Glass containers of any kind are not allowed and shall be removed.
7. The placing of shells, toys, metal designs, ornament, chairs, settees and similar articles are not permitted, and, if placed on the lot, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to remove same.
8. Coat hangers or other wires attached to memorials, used as pot holders, or to support flowers or containers, will not be allowed.
9. The Board of Trustees shall not be liable for any floral arrangements, plants, receptacles, or other items placed on lots or graves that have become lost, stolen, misplaced or broken.

Thank you to the kind generosity of Mansfield Place, all of our veteran flags for this season have been purchased!

Friends and neighbors,
As you may be aware, the EJCA does not bring in enough income through lot sales to cover the expenses of maintaining our two cemeteries. We rely on a subsidy from the City of Essex Junction and additional donations from concerned citizens and civic groups.
Please spread the word that we are in need of flags for veteran graves. This annual expenditure of $700-$800 hits us before the cemeteries are even open for the year. Costs continue to rise and we just can't squeeze anymore $$ out of our meager budget.
Can you donate one bundle of flags? Are you a member of a civic group that could donate five bundles? Here's our wish list on Amazon, with the flags being top priority. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Fairview Cemetery gate is now closed for the winter, so visitors will have to walk in. Please use extra caution as winter conditions may make surfaces slippery or uneven.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season and we'll see you in the spring of 2026!

09/10/2025

To all our Fairview lot owners and heirs of lot owners, the year is winding down. It's time to come in and tend to your plantings and prune any shrubs before winter.

There are some plantings badly in need of pruning, and this is our notice to you. If not taken care of by the end of October, EJCA will do necessary maintenance as per our regulations.

Thank you!
