A group of people learning from Jesus how to be human. We are messed up and need help. Together we are finding hope. in Oakland, CA.

Grace: Our lives begin and end with Grace. All the good we have in life has come from God, not at all as a result of anything we have done to earn or deserve it, it is all freely given by God simply because he loves us. Because of this we all can come to God just as we are and be accepted. We desire to be able to extend that same kind of grace and love to others, not because they have earned it or deserve it, but because the love of God for them is in us as well. Because God has shown us grace our lives will be full of gratitude. Hope: Life is full of things we wish could be different, both inside our hearts, and out in the world. Jesus coming to be with us as one of us, and being for us, gives us hope that things can and will be different. Things will not be as we think they should be, rather they will be as God thinks best. But that works out for our best in the end as well, though it may take us a while to see it. We seek to be open to God’s plan for our lives and the world and look for ways to participate in it. Community: Because Jesus has loved us without condition, so we strive to love each other without condition. This creates authentic relationships that we all long for, and were created to enjoy. Because Jesus came to live in our neighborhood and be one of us, we value being fully present in the Northwest Oakland neighborhood as well, seeking the good of the people who live here and those who pass through.
