"THE NEHEMIAH ASSIGNMENT" became a vision for us while

studying the book of Nehemiah. The words practically jumped off the pages as we read how Nehemiah had inspired so many families to get involved with repairing the wall around the city of Jerusalem. Nehemiah did this in order to keep Jerusalem safe, and to take away the shame and hopelessness of this once great city. We started to look at Ellwood City thru the eyes of Nehemiah. If we look at Ellwood City, and the teens around our town, we see an attitude of hopelessness. Spiritually the wall around Ellwood City is in rubble, the same as the wall was around Jerusalem. We are praying to inspire the same kind of hope as Nehemiah did...
We are praying each family, and each church, will look at each teen as a brick in the spiritual wall around Ellwood City. If we can unite our youth groups and leaders, we will give the teens a strong relationship with each other, they will look out for each other, and hold each other accountable and look to each other as allies through Jesus Christ. That will be the beginning of repairing the wall. We are also hoping to bring in the younger children, and have them be here with the teens once a month and have the teens become mentors to the younger children. In this way, each one of us becomes a brick..each one of us will be repairing a section of the wall. Each one of us will be bonded together to strengthen that wall. When together we are able to build the wall strong enough, we will be able to chase away the very things that are causing the hopelessness in our city. The drug dealers, the gangs, the alcohol, the hopelessness will find no way of filtering into this city..our wall will be too strong. Come on, lets get building that wall! We just got this private message from one of our CWYC teens and are so excited to share his encouraging story of faith and friendship with you, so here goes:
"Hey everyone, there's a story I want to share with you. So earlier, I was talking to a friend who lives in (*BLANKED OUT BY CWYC) She was the type that when she is super depressed, cuts herself. I gave her a bible verse to remember, but soon after found out she was atheist. After a while of talking to her about things, she finally started to listen to things from my point of view. I told her to pray just once, that god would do the thing she wanted, (she told me something she wanted to happen) and he would do it because he cares for her. She prayed and I think may start to believe in Jesus. She said following him actually sounds nice. Today I got a nonbeliever to start to believe in the path of Jesus and hopefully it will stay like that. It only takes one person to change someone for the better. I wanted to thank you all for making me the person I am today and for the good times we shared. I love and miss you guys and hope you all are doing okay. If possible I would like to see if we could get some prayers for the girl that God will influence her life so that she will follow Him and believe In a better place."

We would like to thank everyone for all the Birthday wishes!!! We not only celebrate OUR birthday, we celebrate YOU!!!! CWYC is part of this community, because you all make us part of your lives and you pray for us and support us daily, We are grateful to you for all you do to make CWYC a success, and as always, we thank God for His ministry here in Ellwood City, Thank you all again so much, we love each and everyone of you and pray God continues to use us for His glory in the up and coming year!!!

WOW!!!! HARD TO BELIEVE IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY AGAIN!!!! TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN!!!!! Thank you God for the blessing of another year and for all the teens you have sent our way; Thank you for the lives that have been saved, the hearts that have been changed, and the grace you have showered down on us daily!!!! Thank you for working though us and using us for such an awesome ministry!!!! You have done so much through CWYC and it is amazing to watch you work, we are grateful to be a part of your ministry here at CWYC and look forward to another year....Amen

***Please be praying with us for the families involved in today's fires, and for the Fire Fighters, and Rescue Workers. So many people are looking for ways to help, and we are working to get clothing to the families and meet other needs as we become aware. Thank you everyone for you support during this difficult time in our community, as we all hurt when one of our families in the community is hurting. We had a blast at our Summer Kick Off, for now though, your CWYC Team Leaders have been busy cleaning, and getting organized for another year at CWYC!!! Whew!!! Soon we will start making plans for our July Event, and can hardly wait!!! We miss you all like crazy!!! We hope you are staying in touch with each other and are so glad you're staying in touch with us...we love seeing your BEAUTIFUL faces all over town and sometimes even at our houses!!! God sure did a great job making you all, you're the best, we love you!!! Please be reading your Bibles and we will let you know as soon as our July Event is all planned!!!! ***PRAYER REQUEST*** We are asking for prayer for the Clayton Family, Sherrie Clayton has gone home to be with the Lord today. she leaves behind, her wonderful husband, Steven and children,,who love her to eternity..We are so grateful to have her two sons, Robert, and Kennedy as part of our CWYC Family, as they are at peace and have the comfort of knowing their Mom is in the arms of Jesus today, We will be lifting up the whole family in prayer as they go through this difficult time together, we love you guys,

***Beginning June 9th,Calvin Presbyterian Church 615 Crescent Avenue, Ellwood City will be offering Recreation, Bible Lessons and Free Lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-1:30, in the Crescent Ave. parking lot and in the lower level of the church.
This much needed ministry is aimed directly at meeting the physical and spiritual needs of neighborhood children and youth.

***if you have soccer balls, basketballs, or any recreational equipment in good
or new condition, please drop them off at the Church office ASAP!!! Thank you!!!.
