Testimony Tuesday:
My dad came into my life when I was 7 years old. When he married my mother he not only agreed to love her but also her three kids. He took us in, loved us and treated us as if we were his own. He raised us up in church and taught us right from wrong. He was a hard worker and didn’t make it to all our games or races. When he would get home he would sit there and listen to us tell the events of our days. He was always encouraging and usually making jokes. It was about 10 years before he was able to legally adopt me and my brother but it finally happened! As I’ll always be thankful to my dad for helping me through life, he was there for the most important event in my life….I had been wrestling spiritually and would ask the Lord to help me, give me peace, show me the truth. I struggled silently for years. Finally, one morning I was getting ready for work when I looked at myself in the mirror and realized I was going straight to hell! How could that be? I had grown up in church, said the prayer, been baptized, taught Sunday school, was even a deacons wife. I knew I had to get to my dad and fast. Luckily he lived right next door. I ran through my parent’s home handing my child off to my mother and headed straight for my dad’s hobby room. He was always in there working on his airplane models. I collapsed beside his chair crying. He grabbed me asking what was wrong. When I finally was able to tell him I needed to be saved. He calmly opened his Bible he kept nearby and said, “Well we can fix that”. There was no judgment from him or telling me I was crazy that I had already been saved. He began to read scriptures to me that I had heard my whole life but today they actually meant something. My dad not only took me in and took care of my earthly needs but he helped me with the greatest life decision ever. To accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Immediately I finally had the peace I had longed for. This is truly a joy that can’t ever be taken away.
Thank you Lord for not giving up on me. 🙏🙌 Michelle Dansby
